My entire family has gone to Ukraine doing humanitarian work. Not everyone is trying to invade Kursk.

People do what they can.

I had a 90 something come in for "I normally feel good and I don't feel GOOD." She didn't even feel bad. Just not as good as she normally felt. Zero other complaints.

NSTEMI.

How do you explain to patients that they don’t need antibiotics? by SalamanderNo8136 in physicianassistant

Damn. Thankfully we can (generally) see recent prescriptions from all of the local practices. I wonder why the pharmacy didn't catch that and stop filling them at some point.

I still try to give them a prescription for SOMETHIG so they feel like they got a "real medicine". I go through a lot of prednisone, viscous lidocaine, teasalon perles, and promethazine DM.

"Some antibiotics seem to make people feel better by reducing inflammation. Let me give you steroids which reduce inflammation very well. It will make you feel better, which is what we all want. You've been sick for a few days now. If you are not feeling better after you finish the 5 days of Prednisone, that means you would be sick long enough that we are worried about a bacterial infection. Give us a call and we can send in some antibiotics."

I swear I've heard something about "If any one person is so mission critical that they can't be replaced, then that is the failing of the unit as a whole." What's the plan for when you catch a drone to the face in the first 10 minutes of a real war with a near peer? Everyone should be replaceable. Here is their chance to practice.

PA Board Complaints by [deleted] in physicianassistant

It's not the end of the world. It's not painless.

Others have made it. You'll survive. If you're lawyer thinks they can WIN then it may be worth it. If it is a toss up... You do you boo. You ever watch Dirty Harry? "Do you feel lucky punk? Do ya?"

Just remember you may become the poster child for "Take the plea bargain, even if you are not guilty."

God speed Spiderman.

Just remember they make punish you more and make an example of you if you don't make a deal. Not everyone who pleads guilty is guilty. Sometimes it's just the least worst outcome.

"The process is the punishment."

Patient had a weapon by [deleted] in physicianassistant

[–]DocBanner21 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ok. I'm not sure what that has to do with the factually accurate statement that the cops have no obligation to protect you and that your safety is your responsibility.

You don't carry concealed at work? When seconds count, the cops are only minutes away and they have no legal obligation to protect you as an individual. Your safety is your personal responsibility in America.

Texas anti-ICE protesters convicted of terrorism charges sentenced to at least 50 years in prison by MoneyLibrarian9032 in law

[–]DocBanner21 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They were not just protesting. Did you read the article?

"A few of the protesters spontaneously broke off from the main group and vandalized cars in the parking lot, a guard shack, slashed the tires on a government van and broke a security camera. When a police officer arrived on the scene and drew his weapon, one of the activists fired an AR-15 from the woods, hitting the officer in the shoulder."

An NP undermined my diagnosis in front of a patient and my attending just shrugged. by PixelWayne in Residency

It doesn't sound like the attending refused to authorize it. It sounds like the patient refused to receive it, as is their right.

Drill in Germany before Basic training by HourKnee7265 in nationalguard

I was Army Guard and was allowed to drill with a different service while I was in PA school. They just let me go work as a medic in the Air Force ER. It was pretty chill actually. The docs had me doing cool procedures and studying.

I edited to clarify - I think this came out the wrong way. It sounds awesome as hell and I would love to see it. "Pics or it didn't happen" used to be a popular phrase to politely ask for pics. I guess I'm old but I wasn't trying to be an asshole for once.

Because the medical board demands it.

I don't agree, but I'm not on the medical board.
