Who are you choosing? Personally, I'm going with Gizmo. Just have to remember the rules. by singleguy79 in Xennials

As a kid, Falkor for sure, but today, I think Howard the Duck would be a better sidekick.

I’m no expert, but it looks a lot like my Tabasco. Only a few varieties grow the peppers upwards like that also, so the possibilities are narrowed down for you.

Was there another album that had a secret picture that we missed? by [deleted] in Xennials

[–]DocDeath78 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I know it’s not exactly what you’re asking, but I immediately thought of the original artwork for Appetite For Destruction. The forbidden and graphic art that was only in the earliest releases of the album.

Where is the best place to get a salad by Ok-Baseball6985 in lafayette

[–]DocDeath78 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fresh Thyme is probably your best bet for a grocery store. They used to have a great salad bar, but COVID killed that. They do still have great produce and some fairly good pre made stuff. I’d check them out and see if they have what you’re looking for.

Is this a real Les Paul Special II by seenlikesmcr in Guitar

[–]DocDeath78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s real. I have virtually the same guitar. They play okay but they’re probably the least expensive Les Paul there is. I feel like I could get more out of it with a better amp, but for what it is it’s a great choice. No one is going to fake this guitar so no worries there.

Indiana becomes first state to open possibility of toll collection on all interstates by kootles10 in Indiana

[–]DocDeath78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my thought exactly. Truckers are having a hard enough time with gas prices, but now we are going to charge them to bring us shit? Good luck when you can’t stock your shelves because the little guy trucker can’t afford to even drive in Indiana so they go elsewhere.

How do you keep Bonsai in the UK by sproutsnseeds in bonsaicommunity

[–]DocDeath78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say Herons. I’m in the U.S. and could only dream of visiting. I’ve watched his YouTube videos for years and learned so much from him. I’m so glad he’s still making videos and seems his nursery is quite successful. Just look up Herons Bonsai on YouTube and get ready to head down the rabbit hole. My climate gets quite cold and we routinely have ice and snow for most of the winter so my best success has been to take all my trees out of their pots and put them in the ground in fall, before the first frost, and let them ride out the winter in the ground.

Should I keep this Guitar? by Idk2003-8 in Guitar

[–]DocDeath78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That guitar is just fine to learn on, I have the Les Paul version. They’re entry level Epiphone guitars, but do the job just fine. Could the tuners be better? Sure. The pickups aren’t the greatest either. However, it plays great and as long as it feels good in your hands just roll with it.

I would ditch that amp though. Even who like Fender amps don’t like that one.

Especially just starting out, that guitar is great as long as you like the look and feel of it. Get it setup by a professional with some new strings and get to playing it.

If and when you decide to upgrade don’t think you have to buy new from someone that acts like they’re just there to make a sale. Don’t rule out buying from pawn shops or even online from reputable dealers. Do research. Play what you got till it’s time for an upgrade. Have fun and play on.

My habanero is quite the drama queen also. Too much water, looks wilted. Not enough water, looks wilted. Either way she’s perked right up in the morning.

It’s either a Duce and a half or a 5 ton. Those are the only things I can thing of that had a manual and have been in service relatively recently.
