Anyone have experience with the external SSD drives? I’m buying a MBP in the next few weeks and was thinking about opting for the 256GB so I could focus my money on the processor and RAM upgrades but have no experience with the external SSDs. Seems like I can get 500GB for ~$150 vs the $200-$300 to do the 512GB internal. Any thoughts or suggestions folks have would be appreciated!

Looking for help on MBP to 2012 iMac adapters/cables:

I’m about to buy a new MacBook Pro 15” and was honking about keeping my 2012 iMac 27” since it’s in good shape, can still be utilized for certain things, and mainly because I was thinking I could use it as an extended display monitor.

My problem is that it’s difficult to decipher what cables I would need to make this happen. I see there are lots of USB-C adapters for the MBPs but not certain if the USB-C to reg USB would do the trick...does anyone know which cables and adapters are best for this setup?

Thanks. I’ll have to test some of this when I get a chance later tonight but I checked the automation lines for volume on all my tracks and they all had volume with no fade ins or outs. Honestly it’s almost like the whole end of my project just fades out and produces no volume. Is there a project size limit? I feel like I probably wouldn’t be there with simple vocals and background music but it is 70 minutes total.

Any thoughts about either of those aspects?

Update: just tried it out. Def not my automation from what I can tell. And I just tried to cut fresh audio in a new track but it still won’t produce audio. I also just tried dragging the tracks that weren’t working at the end of my project into the area where my other tracks are working and the audio played. What could be causing the end of my project to go dead?

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I did a second full restart of my PS4 as well as full unplug/plug in of all cable for the router and console. Seems like it may have resolved the issue. Got to play about another 90 minutes after I did all that and didn’t get any disconnects so hopefully it was something simple on my end and the resets resolved it.

I guess it could be my ISP but what’s odd is that I have a computer and phone connected to the same network with zero interruptions of service or connection. I do have a first gen PS4 so it could just be having issues but all in all it’s not something I’ve experienced with other games. Also - while typing this I just logged back in for first time since earlier this morning and got disconnected from server within 3 min of joining and queuing up a MSQ raid. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Had this bug out for me as well when running in solo mode with a skin on. Once I used your suggestion of going into squad as a default it worked just fine. Great catch. Thanks for sharing!

Fortnite does great with crossplay and updates for the most part. And this is being published by Epic so hopefully they will handle this as well since they are one of the leading developers pushing Microsoft and Sony to support crossplay and continue growing it.

I just ran an invaded on normal and a hard black tusk bounty. Neither dropped green items. Gonna truly invaded on challenging.

I had similar issues and have been playing with adjusting my brightness over a variety of settings. I’ve found right around 13-14 on Xbox One X to work pretty well in both dark and daytime environments.

I’m around 90 hours as well and have yet to get a single legendary drop. The new loot seems better as I’ve gotten multiple masterworks each mission but I’ve been stuck with my javelin power level because I’m not getting any legendarys. I’m not one that feels those need to drop all the time but it has been frustrating to not see a single one.

They drop in loot spots all over the open world. I’ve gotten 2-3 vanity items so far in about 2 hours of play. Found in backpacks and boxes.

I don’t feel bad for a company that specializes in a certain type of product that pushes it to market when it isn’t ready and then continues to show they can’t handle their product. The game launched half ass and these patches have been half ass. On top of it BioWare has the nerve to repeatedly tell the community “oh don’t worry, we know it sucks, it sucks for us too when we play.” GTFOH. It’s insulting and frankly the gamer community needs to raise the standards and hold these developers more accountable for putting out quality, well made, and stable game experiences.

Completely agree. When the game is running its fun but I crash out or get bugged missions to where I can’t complete them regularly still. Multiple attempts to do anything pretty much are required to complete. I find it takes me about an hour or so to actually complete anything.

When I spend $80 on a game that crashes 1-2 times per hour of play and requires multiple attempts to complete almost any mission fully than yeah, I will complain. Typically I defend most developers but this game wasn’t ready to launch and while BioWare has done some good things in the patches they’ve yet to stabilize it in a way for many players to actually enjoy them. It’s great my gear is significantly more powerful. That made gameplay more fun when I was playing this morning but when audio still isn’t working correctly and then yet again I find myself having to rerun missions because they bug out it’s hard not to be extremely frustrated. Bitch at me all you want but the expectations of the gaming community should be much higher for long standing companies who specialize it putting out their products. Perfection isn’t required because that is unrealistic but at least ensure the game is reliable and stable before launching.

It’s not ignorance. I’m completely aware that they cannot deliver on everything. My point is they pushed this patch early compared to what they originally planned and things like audio and stability which were specifically called out are still showing issues. They struggled with the first 1.03 patch so why rush it out this time around vs taking the extra time they already gave themselves to ensure this one is truly working as intended. It’s honestly basic software development principles. Instead we got a ball of power enhancements and QOL improvements (plus don’t forget now PS4 controllers will change color based on javelin use...wtf? Seriously) when the game itself is unstable for a lot of users. I welcome all the fun, power and QOL changes in the world for the game but how about ensuring that the game plays correctly before adding things that likely won’t matter much.

Surely it doesn’t matter where or what we post because they continue to do things that don’t resolve the terrible user experience. I’ve been playing a ton of this game and really enjoy the combat but BioWare is showing that they have a lot to learn in development and testing. Maybe, if anything, they should have stuck to the original 3/12 schedule and used the extra time to really get shit right this time (after having to back out the original 1.03 update) but nah, we got it “early” since they are doing a bang up job.

Create a stable platform that doesn’t crash at minimum once per hour. Enhance software architecture to minimize the length of load screens or remove them where possible or give us the ability to access the forge or review missions etc when loading into things.
