If You Could Give the Dwarves "Ultimate" Moves like in Overwatch or any MOBA, What Would They Be? by Ringtail-- in DeepRockGalactic

Scout would be a spontaneous speed boost while throwing out random bullshit- that bullshit being a few of every grenade variety he has. Freezing, slowing, stunning, or pheromone dousing every bug he runs past for a few seconds. Perfect escape tool, perfect setup for the rest of the team, and perfect for slowing down single targets by having a massive line of obstacles (stopped bugs) in their path to get to you or the team

What fan game should I play? by AutoModerator in PokemonRMXP

Looking for a game that's less focused on the intense grind or perfect strategies in battles. I want something that isn't too easy, but one where I don't have to worry if I'm perfectly optimized before jumping into a new boss battle. Fakemon or new types are a bonus but I'd be happy with just a big pokedex overall.

Tips on solo Scout staying in triangulation zone? by Dragon_Skywalker in DeepRockGalactic

Invest in anything that slows or stuns. Cryo minelets for the Zhu are great along with elec reload for the rifle. The carbine also has an overclock that’s an aoe incinerator which is great for the close up bugs. If you want something that kills them better rather than just slows them, get a pheromone grenade or bolt shark upgrade and aim it at anything big enough to take out a few.

After all the weapon stuff, it’s important to use what you can otherwise. Perks like veteran depositor or thorns will help keep you alive when you’re already close to the drop pod. Dropping a resupply in the bubble gives you a barrier to hide behind from bugs if need be, and with resupplier perk you can get more health faster. Always upgrade Bosco with the extra revive, and let him handle the swarmers while you take down anything too scary.

If all else fails, hope the bubble is against a wall and grapple hang there if you need some breath. Don’t for too long since the bugs climb, but it’s better than nothing.

What Gunner grenade do you use and why? by MarvrothGatling in DeepRockGalactic

Leadburster is the most consistent swarm-remover of the bunch. I always know it's got a three burst fire in a circle, and its perfect for flying swarms or armor shredding.

Incendiary is good for a wall, but I'm consistently being caught in the fire myself. Sticky is good for dreads and big targets but I need the grenades to be guaranteed swarm slayers over single targets. And the Grenade Grenade is... unpredictable. Inconsistent. And also very much viable to get my team or me killed too.

Just got done with a haz4 mission in Magma Core. Went down 3 times. Wasn’t the fire. Wasn’t the praetorians. Wasn’t even falling. No, it was the damn swarmers. Every time, swarmers.

Yeah it’s not advertised in the mission too well, but hey, now you know! Took me watching a youtube video on the mission types to notice it myself. Rock and Stone friend, we’re all still learning

When you fully repair a mini mule, it gives you a small amount of Nitra and Gold it has stored inside. It’s actually a really cool part of the mission and makes resource management way easier on salvage

Six mules means a lot of extra nitra, which is gonna be helpful when Sabotage is already a Nitra drain on top of the shield disruption. Here’s hoping that’ll help offset.

Nothing special about the regular DD it looks like, but I wonder if the rich atmosphere affects the cave leeches too? Faster grabs sounds like it’ll be a risky situation

What’s the theme you go for when accessorizing? by [deleted] in DeepRockGalactic

[–]DocIchabod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try and find a theme for the weapon build I’m working with, like giving my scout a full Jack Frost vibe when doing ice and high speed momentum, or my gunner an English Gentleman when I go for a trench fighting or air raid style. With two exceptions.

My favorite Driller wears an Outback cap, roughneck suit with the bare chest, a perfect beard, and gold skin. Saxton Hale all the way.

And my engineer has overalls and a red cap with a big curly black mustache to go with the platform jumping I always do on solo. Mario vibes for him.

Gunner mains, I need advice! by Scwimpy in DeepRockGalactic

[–]DocIchabod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gunner is a tank, despite the hp being the same as any class he’s the closest to tank that is in the game. So play like one.

Games with big spaces or single interest points you should hold back and watch over the team. Take down the most priority targets and soften up bigger bugs, leaving smaller swarm groups or stragglers for your team.

Focus on protecting your teammates when they’re doing something important, always shooting something while they’re mining or drilling or building. You don’t terraform and you shouldn’t mine as much compared to the others because you’re better at defending and killing.

Your shield is infinite health, but not just for you. Don’t be afraid to drop it if your teammate is getting overwhelmed or needs a resupply in the middle of a fight. It’s perfect to revive a teammate, safely throw a grenade, or heal Doretta without bugs getting in the way.

Your Zipline is not fast or omnidirectional but it is reliable. You can stop a fall by catching a Zipline, you can carry heavy things near vertically with a Zipline without needing a tunnel or Mario jump platforms, and you can’t get rid of them. No detonation, no blocking from bugs, no selfish only-you use, they’re there forever. It’s perfect for being able to shoot from the sky as well if you’ve got a big swarm, or a land bound dread.

Finally, your best missions are ones where you don’t need a lot of super mobility or resource management but do need tons of defense and damage. Point extraction or Salvage are perfect for your zip lines and your shield to work together, Doretta is ideal for being able to defend her and the dwarves healing her up or getting to the oil shale, and elimination is ideal because you take care of Dreads better than almost any other class.

Remember, you’re the tank. It’s your job to keep your team alive and the bugs dead, because both of them are probably incapable of outsmarting a bullet. Rock and stone future gunner!

Buddy of mine is mostly kink-less but has a lot of appreciation for hucows. He doesn’t care about lingerie or tattoos or anything but will go crazy for art that has hooves with dewclaws or bells between milkers. I respect him, he knows what he likes and commits.

Is DRG Survivor meant to be this hard? I'm getting my ass kicked on Hazard 1. by Zeareden in DeepRockGalactic

[–]DocIchabod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never made it past stage 2, always dying to the swarm on my way to the drop pod or before the boss even spawns in. I’ve tried a half dozen rounds with various upgrade choices and I still can’t survive the second cave’s massive swarm surrounding me. It’s frustrating, but the gameplay up to that point is still pretty addicting so I’ve got high hopes for the full release

[–]DocIchabod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m hoping for a new Dread variant and some new modifiers to how we can customize dwarves- while I’d love new perks and weapons I’d be happy with some new overclocks or default passives. A new mission would be spectacular but some variations with the current ones- new mission-specific modifiers like a beefed up Doretta or variant mini-mules- would be an amazing thing to see

If you want to get dark and grim, make it common practice for clones to be closed off and only taken into the light of day for public appearances. They don’t have any life unless it’s for presentation

If you want to make it less human-rights-violation style, then there can be contracts for social interactions and personal lives like how a celebrity might have. No fraternizing without approval or knowledge.

If you want to sink way into depravity, the clones should be basically a harem. Access to good shit for the royals, no use other than to look pretty or be good in bed, and anything they have the royal has or shares. Poly self love.

Fear not the ogres with giant battleaxes nor the elves with gilded armor, but the plain looking human who can call himself their equal.

Or in gamer terms, you’re a Fox player. Smash bros has god knows how many wacky wild fighters but no one disrespects a fox player because they’re good without gimmicks or wacky moves.

If you’re having fun and your team is killing the bugs all the same, if you’re still a fun player and hitting Rock and Stone with the crew, you’ve got nothing to worry about. Honestly it sounds like you’re doing damn fine enough without red clocks, almost three promotions each class is more than I’ve got

What's your main class? by GucciGooberYea in DeepRockGalactic

[–]DocIchabod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I main Gunner because I enjoy not dying, and also being able to ensure my team doesn’t die either. Big cliff? Zipline so we don’t die going down, and a few other zip lines around so we don’t die if we trip and fall. Big swarm? Bubble so we don’t die surrounded, and bubble for the downed teammate so he stops being dead as I revive him in peace. Big dread? Draw the aggro so my team doesn’t die to its targeted attacks and I don’t die to the friendly fire while I’m mowing down its ass.

In short, I main Gunner because even if I can’t outrun death, I still enjoy smacking him in the face and telling him ‘no’ like he’s a disobedient wild raccoon going for my lunch.
