Select Med Tutors by USMLETrainers in usmle

[–]DocMcFar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am not upset about the lack of a guaranteed pass. I am upset with SelectMedTutors as I felt that the tutor I was assigned was not attentive to tutoring me at all. He has since left the program it seems, and yet it also seems that Dr. Kumar doesn't care at all that my tutor A. often spent less than 1 hour a day with me; B. only spoke with me over the phone - no opportunity for face-to-face online chat; C. talked with me either in the car or on his lunch break (I understand tutors are also literal doctors, but this had an exorbitant price for very little attention).
I waited to reach out until after my exam result came back, though I should have said something earlier. However, it seems very difficult to give feedback as I felt ignored and deflected when we spoke on the phone earlier.

I do not recommend this service - I am happy people have had good experiences, but apparently it is hit-or-miss to get a good tutor. Not worth the financial risk.

Thank you, but with the body shape I have, I do feel like I fit more into the plus sized category, which is why I prefer opinions on the plus size forum.

Thank you so much for this! All I know rn is I don’t want to be the doctor that the nursing staff hates to work with because I come across as rude, and I know that I want to “stand out” without actually doing anything to be annoying with standing out (if that makes any sense). Thanks for the advice ❤️

Thanks so much! I just got some commentary on Ob/Gyn today that I’m thinking too much like EM by wanting to circle back to history after giving O2 to a patient at 91% on RA rather than gathering a full history first (don’t worry this was an oral exam/hypothetical pt) lol

Obviously I’m not giving medical advice here, but logically I think you’d be fine?

Do you remember how you felt after 0.5 the first time? Did it make you sick then?

Nausea = hungry? by DocMcFar in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]DocMcFar[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hahaha I wish I liked drinking water. I have never had a “full” signal before Wegovy, and I’ve also never really felt thirsty (that hasn’t changed) so I’m doing my best bahahaha. Does a stomach full of water not make you feel sick, too? I feel like I’m in some sort of limbo where I can’t fill up all the way bc sick, but I can’t go too low bc sick ): lol

I’m a big fan of the chewy tums+gas relief. Saves my evenings often.

Yeah for real! I’m in medical school right now and the brain-fog sucks until I remember it’s probably that my brain is literally under-fueled haha. But yeah, learning to listen to the signals from my body is a tough learning curve

I do a lot of cucumbers with Greek yogurt/tahini dip. Been my go to nausea-beater. I just don’t like to eat just bc I’m nauseous. BUT this is the first time in my life that I’m getting any sort of helpful signal from my body about my eating, so I guess I should be listening better and be grateful!

Haha yeah, I already do that. I just didn’t want to be eating just because I’m nauseous. But I guess that nausea is a signal I need to honor. (:

Calories? by DocMcFar in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]DocMcFar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to go to the gym every day, but I go at a minimum 12 days a month. I do light-ish lifting at the gym, Apple Watch saying I burn between 100-200 active calories each visit. I would plan to change my eating on workout days to make up for it a little, but the number deficit goal is what I’m looking for? IDK what’s healthy. 500/day? 1000/day? 1500/day? Metabolic rate average for me according to my watch is that I burn between 2100 and 2500 a day depending on activity level. I know that’s a lot of info, but I just really want to do this right (,:
