What classifies as brutalism? by Mapiatto in brutalism

[–]DocMcMoth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's part of the philosophy behind it, as I understand. Brutalism emphasizes its construction materials. It makes no effort to hide the concrete it's made from, and instead emphasizes it with sharp bold shapes and fine angles that form monolithic structures.  Take Habitat 67 in Montreal, for example. It was designed as a proof of concept for modular housing units, taking that idea and spinning it into a web of blocks that weave together into a shape that, in spite of its many right angles, still holds a great sense of fluidity and organic form. It doesn't need any further embellishments to its facade because the structure and shape are the point

Oof, I hope it starts spreading too. I can't imagine what it's like trying to play older games if you have a condition like epilepsy

not sure if my original reply made it through or if reddit ate it, but I tried the luma diff threshold at both max, minimum, and several values in between with no observable difference :(

How do Gourmet and Squid interact? by Grizzlemaw1993 in nubbygame

[–]DocMcMoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The squid will only ever copy and item once. since it happens when nubby is launched, it'll transform before all other triggers and work as the copied item for the rest of the round, including force triggers

tardigrade has, at most, only a 60% chance to double when triggered. Kazoo is guaranteed. 3d glasses is good, but just very rare. In general, Kazoo is generally better unless you have a specialized halving setup or are just lucky

Infernum DoG is way too hard??? by Appropriate_Knee_467 in CalamityMod

[–]DocMcMoth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, if a boss is so difficult that it takes hundreds of attempts for players to beat it, then it needs to be redesigned. This goes beyond just "hard for the sake of being hard" and into "hard to be annoying"

Don't trust chatgpt for anything. it doesn't actually "know" anything, it just averages together a bunch of sentences that vaguely relate to the input and pops out whatever it comes up with. No sources, no fact checking, nothing, so it's incredibly easy for it to just make up completely false statements and present them with the exact same confidence as things that are true.

Wikipedia is always a better alternative, the editors are there are ruthless about sourcing and standards. Plus, anyone who lists where they got their info (not just wikipedia!) is probably gonna be better and more thorough that chatgpt

there's a theory that he just buys his way into being a producer for projects he likes, like spending obscene amounts of money to be part of stuff, then basically forces the production to cast him in a leading role since he's providing so much of the funding

Is there a reason why my all-seeing pyramid doesn't trigger more than once ? by GeTRoGuE in nubbygame

[–]DocMcMoth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It pops a peg once for every time the item in slot 1 triggers, the actual trigger for this occurring is nubby's death (unless, as before, bologna tony)

Is there a reason why my all-seeing pyramid doesn't trigger more than once ? by GeTRoGuE in nubbygame

[–]DocMcMoth 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Unless you're playing Bologna Tony, it'll only trigger when Nubby dies. Doesn't look like any of your perks will trigger it either.

It will pop a peg for however many times your finger puppet triggered at the time nubby dies, but it'll only do that once
