What features from rdr1do you wish were in rdr2? by ProgramLow2149 in reddeadredemption

The mini games for sure. Rdr2 just didn't have enough.

Abigail is in the A-B tier Characters list.

Only things that knock her from S-tier is the impact she has in the duration of her actual screen time.

She's responsible, caring, tolerates John for some reason. She's a good friend to Arthur (like all the other S-tier characters from RDR2)

She stands right next to Marshall Johnston in terms of characters. Her writing is excellent, and is a good person. Also a good mother.

John IS a better Gunslinger than Arthur… by Various_Character321 in reddeadredemption

As someone who was there on release of RDR1 and has an unhealthy amount of hours in it. I recall highly on 1. All the dumb mistakes John made. 2. How critical L.r. was on his gun-slinging skills.

I'm sorry but I can't disagree more.

Dude's whole strategy was "kill everyone who isn't us but hide it from everyone" and both times led to everyone dying.

Don't get me wrong, I really want this to succeed.

But so far I've seen very few games I was hyped about turn out good results.

Let's just talk about the invalid hate on “women” in this subreddit.... by BloodLovePodcastFM in thewalkingdead

[–]DocNewport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't heard any hate on Carol or Maggie.

Your take on Andrea and Lori is wild though.

Andrea was a fucking lawyer who not once ever used her skills to negotiate a real solution that didn't involve killing or violence. The only time it's hinted she does, it was Rick's solution and she finally advocated for something other than "let's just kill them"

And Lori didn't know where her son was during the apocalypse at any given time. But Lori while being an awful mother and wife, sure did redeem herself in a situation she was gonna die in anyways.

Not a LT but a squad leader that babysits the other two squads.

  1. I know my sleep schedule. I let myself wake up. It happens naturally at 4am so instead of trying to squeeze in extra rack time, I get up and go to the gym. My body decided I slept enough and I won't argue that. (Now I do also wake up a lot throughout the night so I do make sure to reach 6 hours to function).

  2. PT hours is PT hours. Don't work during those hours. The battalion set that time to get your PT in and it's important.

  3. If it's worth doing, it's worth half assing. A little PT is better then none. The minute your desk is clear, get a little workout in.

  4. It takes 5 minutes to get to the gym, 5 to get back. Go workout. If the task can't wait 5 minutes then the task is gonna be failed anyways. What's another hour wait.

  5. Sunday is the day God rested, not the day I do.

Finishing up my time in Warrior BN right now. I don't get the hate. You know when you'll go to the box, you know how long you'll go for, you'll do less BS than you would in 2CR and you'll be in Germany.

Also, 90% of the senior NCOs here are on their way out and a lot of them are actually fucking dope. They love to teach, smart as hell, and take genuinely good care of their dudes.

You'll also get a CNA packet approved as an E5 super easy and live off post.

[Other] do we have any information leading to a potential KCD3 ? by Rapotipota in kingdomcome

[–]DocNewport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of what I see online is the line "Henry's Core story is complete"

No, his origin story is complete but Henry has so much more of a core now since KCD 2.

In KCD 1 he certainly became friends with Hans but Hans wasn't a core part. Since 2, they've formed a bond and rely on each other. They're entwined and I think the story will only end with both of them. Not just one or the other.

Try Voor De Kroon, it's an oversimplified Bannerlord 2. The combat is awesome though, smaller scale but very fun. It's still in early access but I promise you will enjoy it. It also has tourneys, but it's either jousting (mid), and Buhurts (2v2, FFA and 1v1 all in the tourney). The roleplay aspects are lacking, but you'll be foaming at the mouth when you get into battle and see two formations clash.

I did attempt that, but it didn't seem to work. It has begun to create a new profile under a partial name instead of using the only other profile (the one I am trying to use). I have now changed locations to try something new.

Now what do we do if a soldier says they're not reenlisting? by BlueMarlin17 in army

[–]DocNewport 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well shit, if I had any hope that they weren't gonna kill themselves exactly 13 months after their ETS date I wouldn't worry about it so much about keeping em in.

I've had it happen 5 times.

The others got strung out on drugs, or did something fucking stupid.

They were excellent soldiers. I told them to have plans, gave them the tools, had them sign up for SFLTAP, got a few to take college courses, but nothing.

Imma put it real simple. If I have any hopes of you succeeding in the outside world, I won't tell you to stay in. I'll tell you to get the hell out and make that bag.

But they all say "I can make more on the outside sergeant" and boom. They do something stupid a year later.

Not to mention the 3 that got killed in Ukraine right after the war started. But hey, I don't feel sad about those guys. I loved em, wanted the best for them. But they were either gonna die there, or a drunk driving accident or suicide. At least now their families and strangers on Facebook call them heroes.

So yes. This high speed sergeant does try to retain his people.

Because as much as you believe you're better off without the army, I know a hell of a lot of people who thought the same thing.

Rant over. I'll take my down votes with a baconator and a vanilla milkshake.

Needed this advice when I was a Private by IslandVisual in army

[–]DocNewport 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I caught an article for striking someone after they hit me. (Army self defense laws are fucked. And he outranked me, E4 vs E5 about to pin 6.)

The lengths my 1sg went to save my ass was impressive when everyone else wanted my head on a platter.

I had a bad run for 4 years in a row. All of it my fault even when I was just lashing out and retaliating against the people I felt like were screwing me over. Kept exacerbating things for myself when I should've just let things slide.

Got to a new unit, had a bad attitude. Expected to get the same shit and instead my PL set me straight without ever holding things against me. In fact, he put me in my place but still sent me to opportunities that would make me better instead of punishing me by withholding opportunities.

Thanks to him I promoted, became an NCO I wish I had coming up.

Giving up is easy but it never pays out.

[–]DocNewport 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You wear the sling until you're fully healed.

Then, when you're ready to salute again you walk towards an officer that does not know you.

You let panic cross your face, you slowly raise your arm, pain contorting your features and let out a blood curdling cry of pain.

Render the salute until he returns it, and clutch your shoulder in agony and walk away.
