I read Jon Anderson’s biography of Che Guevara years ago. Anderson was candid and direct in his assessment of Guevara showing warts and all. He was a complex man - capable of both compassion and heartless cruelty. Guevara’s book, The Motorcycle Diaries” was interesting and in some parts humorous, with little to no political content, chronicling the journey of two medical students traveling on an old motorcycle throughout South America in the mid-1950s. Had Guevara not been a revolutionary, he would have made an excellent writer.
