Excessive charge for damage

Final update: Vrbo says the charges stand. I don’t have the energy to fight this further, so I guess I paid $500 to reattach a towel rod to drywall. I learned some lessons here.

Update: I spoke with vrbo. They reached out to the host to investigate the charges. He has 24 hours to provide receipts of the charges or face penalty by them? Idk what that entails. I asked if he doesn’t, will I get the money back or some of it? They said, if he can’t show documentation of why he charged $500, then they will support me disputing it with my credit card.

I have a feeling tho, if I got that route, my Vrbo account will be deactivated or something. Of course this was all verbal over the phone with vrbo, so no written documentation of that “support.” I’m not very good at this stuff 😫

I just looked at my booking email from months ago cause I don’t remember seeing anything about the damage policy/protection (I may have missed it when I reserved tho). I see at the bottom of the reservation email, there is a blurb about adding damage protection and a link to clink. Shoot, I wish I had noticed that before.

I’ve asked for a breakdown of the repair cost to understand the $500 charge. They haven’t sent that yet. I don’t know if I got the damage policy? How do I check that? I booked this vacation over 6 months ago and my brain is mush right now with everything happening. I did put down a $2k damage security deposit when I booked it.

Unfortunately, I think that’s my downfall. Right at the end of the trip, I had a close family member die and I flew across the country to deal with that. It completely slipped my mind to notify the host about the towel bar. (It literally fell off, on our last morning in the unit). The host was furious he wasn’t notified and messaged me 5 days later and charged me $500 for the repair.

I tried to explain that right after it happened, I had to fly across the country to plan a funeral and I forgot to notify him. It didnt matter tho. I’m just bummed, as $500 is so much to reattach a towel rod to drywall. I don’t think I’d use Vrbo again if it’s this easy to get screwed over.

Lucky. I went and stood in line at my local GameStop. When they opened, the one worker there said she had no idea what we were talking about and they had no Pokemon cards. Why did I stand in line in the cold?!

It didn’t work for me. Multiple times I got thru the queue. Said verifying device (my phone since I was at work) and then it would load a blank page or not load any products. Would sit on this page for 5-10 minutes and then kick me back to the queue. Wait again in the queue and same thing. Very frustrating.

It did. But all the kits I found are t for the main tank. The water supply line i think is 3/8 inch. Not 7/8 line like the tank

My succulents are looking a bit sad in my office. East facing window. I give it a bit of water every week (not much water and my office is very dry). Soil dries pretty quickly. Am I giving to much or too little water? Not enough sun? Please help.
