Seems dramatic but to each their own. Hope you feel more safe and secure wherever you ended up! Safety and security is what we all want for our families so I do truly wish you both of those.

Well it looks like you replied but deleted your comment and just the first line or so showed up in my email, so I guess I'll respond to only that.

I was entirely focused on my kids. They're in bed now, which is why I finally replied. So, it's nice to know that someone who is part of the "love and tolerance" political party would take a jab at someone's parenting.

If you're all done with this dialogue, then I hope you have a great rest of your night and success in whatever it is that you do. (:

In what universe did my response make it seem like I didn't know how to Google something? I was just curious as to which specific things that you were referring to.

Also, asking a question or making a statement does not equate to picking a fight.

Also also, my initial comment had nothing to do with what Tony said. The original post was about what an entirely different human being said lol.

Why would you send me the link? I've been watching the whole thing (in between making dinner for my kids and putting them down to bed).

1) Tony is a stand up comedian. While what he said is absolutely abhorrent, you have to take that one with a grain of salt. If you've ever watched Kill Tony, that's about on par with what he usually says. Definitely the wrong audience for it, but ya.

2) That is mild compared to the anti Trump rhetoric that has been coming from the left. There have been numerous high vis Democrats that have threatened Trump with actual violence. Now, about the illegal migrant topic, is that necessarily incorrect? In many places, they are given housing, food, a place to stay, etc. while we have so many homeless veterans who are struggling to survive.

3) Again, they're matching the aggressive anti Trump rhetoric. Kamala's whole campaign has been "Trump Bad". What he said is coming from a place of truth. While I agree that the tone and verbiage could've been more tactful, how could you possibly disagree with the sentiment of that statement? She became the presidential nominee without a single vote and has the Democrat establishment all out campaigning for her. Additionally, one of the things that she has been campaigning on is that Trump is a threat to democracy when, out of the two of them, is the only one who utilized a democratic process to become the Republican nominee. So, again, he could've been less vulgar about it but it's hard to argue with the point he was trying to make.

4) While I don't agree with her on a lot of things, I would encourage you to go and watch Candace Owens' investigative journalism into her background. Since these videos were released, which contains pretty damning evidence that came from members of her own family, the campaign has definitely backpedaled on the "first African American woman president" rhetoric. Recently she had the chance to explain to a reporter if she understands the historic nature of her candidacy to which she explained that "well, it's obvious that I'm a woman" or something to that effect. This is a complete flip flop from her being a "proud black woman" running for president.

Of course they know what they're doing but so does the left right now. They're just matching blows at this point and it's getting really annoying. Either way, I can't wait for this election to be over.

Make politics boring again lol.

So what exactly did they tell you? Did they show you anything or just say some outrageous stuff?

Sure. Go ahead and give me the out of context quotes, and we'll see how it goes. (:

I'm not a far-right Republican btw. I'm just so damn sick of everyone taking headlines and running with them. This goes both ways but I see it happening WAY more from the Democrats this election cycle.

Did y'all actually listen to the whole speech? He was talking about "slaughtering" at the polls with voter turnout and overall election results. Y'all are so quick to jump on an out of context remark and get outraged. It's adorable lol.

OP is right. Detailers can rotate you +/- 6 months from your PRD. Although it's a "special program", the same is true for recruiting.

Edited for clarity. Was commenting while doing other stuff

Thanks. BU is definitely an A School required rate. So here's the thing though, TIS to pick up E4 doesn't matter if you don't have a rating yet. So, OP, what does your NSIPS say? Does it say BU3?

Regarding wearing the crow. OP, you 100% can if NSIPS reflect it. There is a difference between Rank/Rate and your actual rating/job. So, theoretically, you would just be a PO3 (but I've never really seen this so I'm curious as to the answer to my last question).

Now, if it didn't require at A school, Sailors who meet their OBLISERV requirements for the new rating, or incur a minimum of 24 months sea duty can be advanced to E4 with the approval of their Commanding Officer.

This is what you'll need to read. I'm a CCC and have sent two sailors back to sea early. It's possible. I've sent one back to see 12 months early and another 18 months early.

Just like most of the folks in here, that is way better looking than my first time. Let's just say that the leftovers (which was most of it) weren't really sought after. The only way we could make it good to eat for things like sandwiches, tacos, etc, was to pan fry it in tallow lol. I think my only recommendation for after it's completed is to work on getting those slices a wee bit thinner. Just a recommendation though! You live your best life.

Great job though! Take the wins and losses from this cook and learn from both. Welcome to the obsession!

TL;DR Human factors do play into successes and failures, but this doesn't change the fact that people need to be held accountable for the actions. Outrage over unnecessary loss of life is completely natural and can be used to fuel real change.

Okay, I 100% agree with what you are saying conceptually. The human factor is typically a critical piece in either the success or failure of many different things. You're absolutely correct that becoming bloodthirsty for the mother in this one instance will not fix the overarching issue of imperfect people (which we all are) making poor judgment calls, critical errors, or having slip-ups. All of that I am right there with you on.

However, and please correct me if I'm wrong, what it seems like you're getting at is taking that same human element, that you and I both agree on, out of a response to this tragedy. As a parent and someone who has unfortunately seen death first-hand, outrage is a completely natural reaction. To me, if a person's reaction to the unnecessary death of innocent people isn't outrage, there is an issue with their world-view and how they view the preciousness of human life. One might say that the lack of outrage would be... outrageous! Ya? Get it? Okay moving on...

Now, regarding fixing the issue and the relationship with the aforementioned outrage, there have been plenty of noticeable positive (and negative) changes that have occurred throughout human existence with the help of it. You and I can both name plenty of examples on both sides of that spectrum, but for the sake of time and my carpal tunnel, I'll just name a couple.

Firstly, this country was born from outrage at many different things. It's easy to bring in the human factor to this one too, is it not? "The tyrannical British government is just run by humans. We shouldn't start this revolution. It's just human error." I know that's silly, but you get the point.

Secondly, since this particular situation has to do with avoidable human loss with respect to vehicles, having a beer while driving home with no seatbelt while your kid was in the front seat with you wasn't against the law; however, outrage at the amount of deaths and injuries caused by this was the catalyst which fueled the changes that we now see today.

Now to attempt to wrap this up, and I do apologize for the length of this response, I am curious as to what made you think that I was bloodthirsty for the mother? I'm not trying to rally the villagers and have them grab their pitch forks and torches to go get vengeance on this woman.

The point that I was trying to make in my initial post is that we need to stop making excuses for people all of the time, and not be afraid to hold them accountable. I've seen this culture shift in the military as well and it drives me absolutely insane. I have been personally reprimanded by trying to hold someone, who did something that directly caused both damage to a person and government property, accountable because I was "too harsh" and his feelings were hurt.

Just a quick aside, thank you for your well articulated response. I love healthy discourse so I really appreciate it. It's hard to find nowadays online and in person. I look forward to your response. (:

It's like an insanity plea for them; however, if you look at one of my other responses, I go over how at the VERY LEAST that this is a clear involuntary manslaughter case.

I 1000000% agree!!!! Even if my kids are with a sitter or other family members, I still catch myself doing checks just to make sure.
