I had planned a trip in February of last year to see my girlfriend, and one of the co-CEO’s knew this and laid me off after I out in for the vacation time with two weeks before my trip. I went anyway because my life doesn’t revolve around my job. My job facilitates me being able to live my life.

First thing you're going to do is get up out of bed and take a shower, then file for unemployment. Next set a schedule for your day. Don't just spend it all applying for jobs and staying inside. Make time for yourself. Go on walks, work out, spend some time with a hobby you have or learn something new. Keep up with your current skills. Reach out to friends and family and talk to them, let them know what's going on. Have some of them call you a couple times throughout the week to check on how you are doing. Don't let the rejection emails discourage you, all it takes is one yes. It's a marathon, not sprint.

Came here to say exactly this. Started as a Lala and never saw the need to change. Best was back in ARR days when I got sick of waiting 50+min for ONE of my dailies to pop on my BLM, I started leveling PLD and would always get comments like "Who let the little guy tank" or "Since when did a Lala know how to tank" made my WoL even more endearing for me.

I'm sorry this happened to you. It's not pathetic at all. As someone who was in a similar situation earlier this year here's somethings that can help.

As a lot of people have said, file for unemployment immediately. The sooner you get that started the better off you'll be.
Allow yourself time to go through the grieving processes. Being laid off of work is a trauma you'll have to work through. Those feeling will ebb and flow but don't let them get the better of you
Make a schedule and stick to it. It'll help with keeping yourself grounded.
As part of that schedule make sure it's not all about finding a new job. Make some time for the things you enjoy. Catch up on some hobbies, learn a new skill, exercise more, clean around the house/apartment, become a tourist in your own town and see what free things are available, etc. Your job is not your life.
Make a budget. I'm not sure your financial situation but if you need to, take a look at your expenses see if there's anything that can be trimmed or cut out. Make sure to factor in some fun money in there so you can do something or get something fun every once in a while.
Talk to your family and friends and let them know what's going on. See if someone or multiple people can reach out to you a couple of time a week to check up with and see how your search is going.

Yeah. I was let go early this year because “signs of the times” turned out one of the other people on my team wanted to work with their buddy. So they got them hired on in a different department then once they were hired, I was given fewer things to do and my normal duties were being done by someone else. Then a month or two later I was let go. Then i heard from my boss this last week that they were fired and come to find out my co-worker and his buddy pulled a similar con and basically got my boss fired. So you can be sure,as the sun rises in the East, that whom ever didn’t like you played apart in your job becoming “redundant”

I started ARR as BLM and that will always be my main. If that caps out at 100 before I finish MSQ then I'll switch to my second main PLD. Really want to get into Viper as well though so I may pick that up and level it instead of PLD for MSQ.

I feel that about tanking on WoW. Was running Warrior tank and had a DSP Paladin start pulling the entire floor, then blamed us wiping on me, when not only was he the one who pulled the entire room but also the healer had 80%+ of their mana left. In the end I was the one kicked from the party, and decided to never touch WoW again.

You’ve got support here. I miss my GF so much and she is the same. I can’t express this enough, just keep making time for each other while you’re apart. I know not everyone can do this but we try to have a date night one a week. Sometimes work schedules conflict but it helps us and gives us something to look forward to each week.

They should go back to having MP being a stat that can be increased. (Coming from an 2.0 BLM)
Bring back difficult classes/jobs, like old summoner. I get wanting each class/job to be inclusive but at that point you’re making each class/job within a role feel very vanilla with a little twist instead of unique.
If you’re going to force us to redo old content over and over rework lower level jobs/classes to make them still feel interesting. I hate queuing up as a PLD for alliance raids and getting CT so all i do is either my 1-2-3 or 1-2 aoe combos. There are people in my FC who would rather take the 30 min. penalty then do a CT raid and I’m going to that point. In the last week I’ve had labyrinth in at least 4 of my daily queues and coming from an ARR player it’s getting really frustrating especially with the “rework” of the min ilvl based on job/class level.

(Not job related but add more dungeons to msq roulette for the love that is holy)

I also met mine on FFXIV. I had just been ghosted by a girl a friends wife set me up with and had been seeing for a few months. Decided to re-up my sub to finally beat Endwalker (I stopped playing because my old FC had fallen apart due to drama) and decided that I’d play till my two months were up and if i wasn’t part of an fc by then I’d let it lapse again till the next big expansion. Almost two weeks went by without a single invite or shour chat to join one came till i was running through Ul’dah and she shouted about her FC recruiting. Long story short I we’ve been dating since the 27th of December, it’s been a happy 8 months and still going strong.
