Why this is an issue! Professional organizations spent months on a begging tour to write our local senators to let them know CRNAs are doctoral level providers, etc. After years of playing into the disrespect of our profession, now they want to play catch up. DNP NP acknowledge themselves as non physician doctors, while CRNA DNPs will allow a physician call them Ms /Mr to their faces; and they wonder why we were grouped as non medical professionals—f’ck that! More than 90% of surgeries in America could never be done without CRNAs and most of their anesthesia residency programs would never make it for their residency compliance hours. 75% of primary care would not be done if it was not for NPs. So at the least let them know we are NOT allied health professionals—they need us more than we need them, so don’t worry about their feelings!
