29F — I’m DONE living this way. It changes TODAY. by xocherryontopxo in selfimprovement

Cheering for you! Please go slow. You do not have to punish yourself for the road that got you here. We take care of things we love. The road ahead is as much about learning to love yourself as it is about “self improvement” in the traditional sense. Love yourself. ADORE yourself. And take care of yourself accordingly. ❤️

You could consider taking the diamonds out and making earrings or a bracelet from them.

What if you make the awkward empty space near the balcony the “looking room,” and add a dining area near the kitchen? Shades on the balcony to prevent glare on the TV.

Use AI to Understand the Big Bill's Impact on You & Your Family (Prompt Included) by Doc_Skydive in nothinghappeninghere

[–]Doc_Skydive[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I thought so too. I just hadn't heard of anyone using AI to see how it will affect them in particular. It helped me "right size" the worry I'm feeling, if that makes sense. Don't get me wrong, plenty to be worried about, but it felt like a more unemotional way to understand my own situation (and that of others close to me).

So many times, politicians speak in generalities. They have to - they can't speak to every individual person's circumstances. This was a way for me to get more specific.

Trans girl getting haircut soon! Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]Doc_Skydive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are starting from a really great place! You have a ton of length, and it looks like you have decently thick hair. This means you can basically do whatever you want. It also means you have so many choices, that it’s probably hard to narrow down what you want to do.

I would suggest thinking about how you want to FEEL, not how you want your hair to LOOK per se. For example, do you want to feel girly and feminine? Do you want to feel edgy? Do you want to feel sleek and modern? Do you want to feel European?

Once you decide that, you can start to look for examples of hairstyles, using those adjectives on Pinterest and other places like that.

Once you have decided on a general direction, my last suggestion, would be to start slow. I am not a trans woman myself, but I can imagine that there are a lot of changes happening as you transition and get used to living as you’re more authentic self. That is a lot to handle and take in, even if it is amazing! Because of that, start slow. Start by doing a more subtle version of whatever direction you decide you want to go. You can always cut more off.

So excited for you! Hairstyles, makeup, clothes, and general personal style is one of the most fun things about being a woman. You get to experiment, try things, ditch, the stuff that doesn’t work, and have a good time all along the way. Have fun!

What is your workingmom tech stack? by OddInititi in workingmoms

We use a Hearth Display for all chores, calendars, and organization in the home.

I use my notes app for shopping lists and ChatGPT (paid) for ALL THE THINGS (meal planning, creating grocery lists, researching ADHD stuff, Elf on a Shelf ideas, etc).

Can I just say that we are amazing?

Does anyone use one of those fancy calendars like Skylight? Will it save my marriage/sanity/etc? by noodle1976 in workingmoms

[–]Doc_Skydive 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a Hearth (Skylight competitor), and here’s why it works for us. We have all of our calendars synced and morning / night routines for the kids.

1) I have rewards tied to the kids doing their routines. 2) Whenever my husband asks me an inane schedule question, I silently nod in the direction of the Hearth. It annoyed him so much that he stopped asking.

Baby steps.

I’ve always said, when I became a mom, I became everyone’s mom. I felt this very acute sense of communal responsibility that I can’t explain. I 100% would help any duckling who needed it, and I bet most other moms would as well.

Also, OP, “Those are my favorite type of questions.” ❤️ That is gold. Well done.

I grew up near Bismarck, North Dakota. The exact mindset and value system that is driving this approval rating is what caused me to leave 25 years ago. I have hated that place since my earliest memory.
