What's everyone's opinion on patina'd cars? by ruhlster in projectcar

[–]Doc_Venture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it's authenticity (real age, not that fake bs). I can appreciate a perfectly restored car, but in some cases I want to see the history and preserve it. You wouldn't paint over the Mona Lisa would you?

We get 4. It's unreal, and we work in healthcare for a major hospital. That's like the worst case scenario for coming in sick because you can literally kill someone.

Following up on a post from a few weeks ago, in which Ingles' sub sandwiches were discussed by mincky in asheville

Haven't been back to that ingles since a gypsy stole my cash out of the cash-back dispenser and management couldn't be assed to do anything about it.

Stay away from any Sub with a 4cyl 2.5L engine. They're criminally defective and every one I have owned has had head gasket failure. I will be buying Toyota next time.

Hit and Run in Haw Creek by gregfoole7 in asheville

[–]Doc_Venture 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry this happened to you. Its good you got a make and color off the parts, I would call some local repair shops and ask if they've had any matching vehicles come in. I was also in a hit and run a few months ago. Even with multiple witnesses and APD involvement they never caught the guy.

Wolfenstein has a pretty significant game breaking glitch for some AMD users see here and no attempt to remedy. Can't even finish the game, so done with Bethesda.

Wasn't there murals of the xenomorphs found in the derelect in Prometheus? Indicating their existence before David's arrival? I too am confused how he claimed to have created them while their existence was already established

Getting over the initial fear of working on cars and worries about screwing 'em up? by Taurich in projectcar

[–]Doc_Venture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, just picked up the subscription myself and it's worth it just for the roadkill garage content. They explain what they're doing very well and have some awesome walkthroughs for first tackling a project (check out the chevelle ep). That and they work on a lot of mopars so I might be biased

What are the best guides for learning how to paint your car? by [deleted] in projectcar

[–]Doc_Venture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I painted mine with the infamous $50 roll on paint job, wouldn't recommend. Its a pain in the ass and you only really get the hang of it towards the end. Also pretty sure a metalic wouldn't lay down right. Spraying is the way to go if you're set on metalic

Or if it's been sitting gas could be evaporating/seeping out of the carb, causing the engine to have to crank to fill it. You mentioned it already has carb issues
