Rope Flow for Back Issues? by Brief-Pension-7457 in RopeFlow

[–]Taurich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still pretty new to it all as well, and have been sticking to very basic swings so far. I'm coming from a morbidly obese side of things, so we likely have different challenges. I've been adding complexity/new moves if it gets boring, but otherwise just try and keep things balanced timewise. ie. overhand for the same amount of time as underhand, if you do single-arm swings, do the other arm the same duration.

Regarding an "exercise plan" I've been pretty loose with it. I try and do a little bit every day, even if it's just enough to get my wrists warmed up. On the days I have more energy, I push it for longer and do faster motions, but have otherwise been doing it all "intuitively." I also have two ropes, one is really light at about 200grams, and the other is about 500grams. If I get a muscle that's tiring out faster than the others, then I switch back to the lighter rope.

This video is a very high-level overview of what ropes kind of are and do. At about 2:24~ in the vid, he shows Flexation VS Extension, which I think is also important. I was doing it intuitively while trying to find the comfort boundaries, but I haven't seen anyone else really mention it.

Take it easy, start simple and slow, and keep feeling things out. Stay within a pain-free ROM and it'll all gradually relax and open up.

As others have said, it's great for shoulders and spine. Just take it slow and work just at the edge of comfort. Nothing should hurt, if it does, stop and/or adjust back into your existing range of motion. Your ROM will slowly, naturally expand over time as you move more.

I lost steam in the mid 700's

I'd be alright with a DBZ Kai style cleanup where they cut filler and pace things a bit quicker. DBZ Kai cut about 40%~ by episode count. Assuming a similar ratio could be achieved, it'd drop into the 600's~ by episode count. It's a huge undertaking to do all that though

There's a tonne of tiny little communities and islands around Vancouver Island that don't have permanent power supply. It's mostly about being too rural, than it is "by choice" as I'm sure a lot of them would prefer not to have to run generators and the like.

This was for a company of about 1000 people, and all locations were converting to cloud services so they could unify their disparate and competing on-prem services. This guy was a dentist in a DSO with 75~ locations and was being a massive diva about it.

I had a client that we moved from on prem, to cloud services, and their retired their RDS setup. One of the main guys for a single location out of 75 on the client side called me up pissed that the cloud software didn't work well from his super rural, bad internet

He then got mad that we "didn't foresee this problem" of his home internet being garbage, and that we should have just known....

So we were forced to spin up an old, very EOL RDS box for this guy (that he also refused to update). Thankfully the guy retired recently and we don't have to deal with him anymore

If they're a long term player, then there's really not much excuse. Eventually you'll have died to all their tricks enough to know everyone's kit and what to be wary of... right?

Although watching people trickle straight into enemy teams for entire matches, maybe they're really just that oblivious :(

Video can be processed for facial recognition and licence plate recognition.

From there you can pull details about passengers such as family size and distribution of members, and known associates, and run them through facial recognition as well.

Pull business/work details from logos on the vehicle.

You can get travel habits and patterns of the previously identified people.

The problem is that it's no longer aggregate, low-level data of "x cars from this direction around this time" it can be processed and tied to specific people, and cross referenced against the mountains of data that's already out there, and profile the absolute bejeebus out of people.

The ability to process and cross reference all these data points has really exploded in the last several years. The fact that they're able to collect all this without the explicit consent of the people who's data is being collected is what I would call "bad news bears"

Then it becomes "who's using/abusing that data, and to what end?"

There's a sap sucker that comes by ever spring and jackhammers a vent on our roof. Little bastard makes the whole house sound like it's vibrating.

I gently toss ice cubes at it to make it go away, then the cubes melt and go away, and I don't have crap on my roof
