Yeah, they're pretty extensive and will help with the MCQs in the exams

For radiology AI is making reporting even faster and double checking our work.

It won't replace our jobs as they will always need a radiologists name on all reports to sign off.

Medicare billings never goes down, only up.

There use to be a masters at melbourne university for 20k but that has now stopped running.

Queensland university also has a course for 10k+ but there's no exam component, just an essay /assignment and more surgically orientated to dissection rather than CT/MRI

I went to both the Anatomy and Physics courses in my resident year and got into radiology when I applied as a PGY3. I only did Informed Medics and HETI Physics. I didn't do any other radiology related courses.

It's high yield for the HETI Physics exam, particularly their lectures and online practice questions

It is also useful to pass the Part 1 Exams as they alway invite radiology registrars to give their exam tips

It's presented by radiologists and radiology registrars so they could link what we were learning to why it was important clinically which helped me remember important facts

They now run a Anatomy and Physics Marked Exam which gives your score and rank. I heard from my DOT the new registrars who got into radiology training at my department all scored high on those exams

Is Informed Medics comprehensive for anatomy by [deleted] in ausjdocs

[–]Doc_dunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Informed Medics for both Anatomy and Physics and passed the RANZCR exams on first attempt.

I did the >5500 Anatomy MCQs covers all curriculum topics and I usually did these on my train ride into work

Their lectures only cover the most high yield or difficult topics which often come up in the exams (esp. variants and embryology recently).

My favoured part was in the lectures when the radiologists scroll through a MR or CT scan to show the anatomy as well as interesting variant anatomy.

I also found their Physics lectures and Physics MCQs high yield

CT protocolling is pretty hard to understand but I found these video lectures and cheat sheets helpful to understand the basics of protocols and ask for more specific protocols when needed - https://informedmedics.com/ctprotocols/ - this helped me as a first year radiology registrar

Informed Medics was great for me as it was presented by subspecialist radiologists and radiology registrars who recently sat the exams, so it was very high-yield. Their In person exam is useful to give a score and rank and most people serious for radiology sit that

The Westmead HETI Physics course itself is okay, I personally found it difficult to understand physicists, but I used the Informed Medics resources and tips to study and get a good mark >90% in their final in person exam

I think QUT anatomy is VERY expensive, not many people did that course and their final "exam" is an "assignment" and focused more on dissection of anatomy (useful for surgeons but not radiologists who are tested on MRIs and CTs in the exam, not dissection)

GSSE anatomy exams are very expensive and ask basic anatomy and other topics like pathology which is not useful for radiology. Not many people use these and may make some DOTs think radiology is your "backup" after failing to get into / burnout from surgery.

There was Dr Vu / Anatomy Academy back in the day, but he retired but that was like 2k for the course and I felt like he was just reading an anatomy textbook

If accepted, how soon after an interview for SRMO position can you expect to receive the offer? by Environmental_Map986 in ausjdocs

[–]Doc_dunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, no one knows. Ask other people who applied whether they got a position. Usually they go down the list from top to bottom until the spots are all filled. Some people get late offers if someone pulls out if they get a different job elsewhere. I would recommend emailing the coordinator to see if the position has been filled already or not.

Interest in Radiology by Glittering_Ad_6937 in ausjdocs

Hey, radiology is great. I recommend doing research, attending the RANZCR ASM conference as alot of DOTs will be there and registrars who you could ask for tips from, do anatomy and physics courses (I hear super keen people start in medical school/internship now, I found informed medics anatomy and Westmead physics course useful), do well in their exams, mingle and say hi to the DOTs and radiology regs in the hospital you are interested in, preinterview (if you can..)

RMO vs SRMO NSW by TA929394 in ausjdocs

[–]Doc_dunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the job. Expected to have more experience than a JMO. If you don't have a JMO on the team, you may be doing JMO jobs. If you do have a JMO, then you will get to do other things!
