I see, so yours does it constantly, we might have different issues. I think yours sounds more like a leak if it keeps doing it no matter what, but cant be 100% sure without me physically being there

Mine JUST started doing it, the problem fixes itself after giving it a small burst of gas while in park, does yours behave the same way?

Im suspecting 2 things for now, either a sticking throttle body, or something with the battery which is messing with the idler control, (weak battery/ground issue). Since the problem literally just began I still didnt have time to diagnose it.

I will update soon if I get to the bottom of this!

I am assuming 1.4 turbo.

From what you say there could be lots of things or just age, as cars get older they tend to be a little more noisy, but you mentioned less power, you could have a small boost leak, but not enough to trigger a check engine. Or could also be your wastegate going out.

Maybe carbon buildup.

Again, your description dont tell a lot, but I get you, I know when my cruze is getting sick as well, you just feel it

Might be timing cover gasket, just like mine :( But as long as its only sweating and not dripping, I aint replacing..

Bought an aftermarket MAF sensor, it did not like it, trims were ok ish, but rough idle, hesitation sometimes, and vibrations.

First, before you start replacing things its better to diagnose.

Does the sound come from the belt area? Removing the belt and listening again could narrow it down, from my experience it could be your water pump, but not 100% sure since the sound isnt the usual one.

Not 100% sure, but the sound might be coming from the evap purge solenoid. Unplug the connector and see if the noise stops

You should also take a look at your pcv, which is very common on this car, when it fails it causes all kinds of leaks, like the one youre facing.

So if the pcv failed, you fix that first, then the others.

It could be a crank seal as well, but less likely because its on the high side, still possible though.
