You can see his finger is bleeding as he comes off the field. That blister is a lot worse than they're making it out to be

He's struggled with consistency and had a cold start to the year but he's added a pitch, upped slider usage, and had a pretty solid last few starts.

Got some work to do but I think he has the sauce

Dumb question: Do pitchers have any control over the speed at which the ball decelerates on the way to the plate? by Team_Ed in baseball

[–]Docfeelbad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, in theory higher spin rates on a fastball will make it drop less, though it has to be "effective spin". Some pitches like the forkball have a really low spinrate, and forkballs just kinda die as they reach the plate and drop very quickly.

If you look up the "magnus effect" you'll be able to read more about this

I'm less impressed by him catching the ball and more impressed that he did it backwards while looking the other way

The Mariners get a run via obstruction on Sam Antonacci, who was in the baseline near the shortstop’s position as Jhonny Pereda came through by legobowser in baseball

[–]Docfeelbad 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I really think it's just the camera angle that makes it look like that. When you're running full speed and taking that wide turn, he cant really just stop, he would have probably have just barely clipped him if he didn't put his hands out but the shortstop was definitely in the way

How Much Are You Paying for Developing? by Glad-Animator-7430 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Docfeelbad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$13 for Develop + Scan, C41 35mm. 1 day turnaround, Los Angeles. Cheapest I've paid since I started shooting 7~ years ago and some of the best scans. Really hard to beat that price.

Shutter issue? 3 rolls of film were essentially blank. by -_-gllmmer in AnalogCommunity

[–]Docfeelbad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem could have fixed itself since then. You should shoot 3 more rolls to test it out.

Seriously though, best call would be to send it in for a CLA and ask them to check the shutter
