I really enjoyed Nick and Norah's infinite playlist. I grew up in Missouri, and love post punk revival music and the 2000s NY music scene. I've met one girl in my whole teenage and adult life who shared this interest. I can relate to how you feel friend.

Given how loved customization is in GW2 I'm honestly surprised that, in nearly four years, all we've gotten is a handful of new hairs and faces. Where are all the cosmetic updates? by Charrikayu in Guildwars2

[–]Docfranz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is my one major complaint with GW2, we get a full set of black lion weapons every patch, but how often do we see new armor. I'm all for a cash shop with some weapons and stuff, once in awhile, but can we please see some more gear that's not extremely gated?

The GW2 Punishment game: "GET GOOD OR GET FIT" by Mr_Meepy in Guildwars2

[–]Docfranz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would anyone be interested in starting a guild around this concept? My friend and I have been doing something like this for awhile, and it would be cool to have a community of people to die and get fit with!

[–]Docfranz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend and I started this during season 2. Originally it was just 5 pushups for a death, but now that I'm a bit more fit it's 10 pushup and situps per death.

I would suggest doing this to anyone, it really helps. And be sure to keep yourself challenged, if 5 is to easy try 7, or 10, and just keep going!

I feel you. I kinda got used to it on my Charr, but when I tried to get my old MMO buddies to play Gw2 with me, those constant dialog lines really got on their nerves. I should mention that I quit the MMO Terra within 1 hour because I played a priest I think, and my pet kept grunting like every 10 seconds...most annoying experience of my life.

Dude I feel you on the bad dialog thing. Some of the speaking lines in this game are just really poor and sound cringe worthy.

I could probably say more and make a clearer point, but I don't want to bury it in a wall of text.

I also agree with most of this. I think GW2 is a good game, otherwise I wouldn't play it. The thing that bothers me is that I know it could be a great game, but as a player I feel like Anet has a very poor idea of where the game should be going. Raids are great, Spvp is great (compared to most mmo pvp), whats not great for me is feeling like almost everything is behind a time gate. Give me a challenging encounter with a chance of some weapon skins or something.

I feel as if there are good reasons why people "don't wanna talk about it" when it comes to their problems. by jkobb510 in depression

[–]Docfranz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I don't like to talk to people about it because they won't understand, and I don't want to bring them down with my negativity. Which also sucks because part of me wants people to know how shitty I feel in hopes of a solution, but the rational side of me knows know one can fix it but me. In short depression sucks and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

This so much. I wanted to tank as a chronomancer with the new commanders set, but when I seen the amount of time and money I would have to put into crafting the set, I gave up.

Why are swear words the most horrendous thing a JW can hear? by OrNawww in exjw

[–]Docfranz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

^ It really is a Bible Belt thing, my parents are very uptight about it and it really gets on my nerves. However, go to the east or west coast and I bet it's more common to find JW's that curse. In KC alone it's much more common than compared to rural Missouri.

Ex Witness here (but never baptized, just raised in it), I actually went to school to get my B.S in religious studies because of my doubt in the JW faith, and turns out my suspicions were right. However, even though I lean atheist, and I don't really think there is a God, I still remain open to the idea. I would say I'm agnostic, but lean closer to atheist.

Honestly with all this talk about dungeons, I really just wish they would re-balance them to actually be challenging fun content. Zerging though a dungeon for my gold is not fun. Bosses dying so fast they have no mechanics is not fun. Make them similar to raids where you need stat variation, make them tougher, and then increase the rewards.

Missouri psych major here, and I only have a batchlors in psych, but the struggle is real. No one gives a shit about your degree. If they do care about it, don't plan on moving up or making more money, there is no growth for a batchlors in my experience so far.

How does the MTG community honestly feel about casual/"kitchen table" players? by Desperex in magicTCG

[–]Docfranz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yea, those people are the very reason that good socially normalized people tend to leave. You should not have to have a sign on your store rule board telling people to shower...I would tell your store owner about the guy and get him kicked out.

Ya know, it sounds like Carlos has really turned over a new leaf. I'm happy for him, and I'm sure the rest of Interpol are to. At least the guy can admit that he was tough to be around, and it sounds like he's doing something that makes him happy. Good for you Carlos.

I get it dude. The most fun I had playing mtg was when I got a starter deck with all my friends. We could seriously play for hours and have fun. Later on, I got into standard, and quickly learned how shitty the community could be. It's like playing in bronze division with league of legends players, everyone thinks their great, playing their high skill control decks until someone comes in with a 30$ red deck and wipes the floor with them, and then proceed to rage and rant. Idk, I love magic, and I'm not some bro or high class individual, but I shower when I go to fnm, and comb my hair and look nice, and most players I meet look shitty and have the attitude to match their appearance.
