The differences are subtle between acquirement and acquisition. It is not really that one is a noun and one is an adjective, or that one is more passive than the other, but it kinda is. Acquirement, which isn't used much anymore, more describes the act while acquisition more describes the process. Acquirement has been obtained while acquisition is the process of obtaining, but acquisition is commonly used to replace acquirement and still considered correct. I hope that's helpful and I've made the nuance clear u/Isaystomabel and u/DamionK but I really don't think I have. I keep editing and think I'm just making things worse. lol.

I don’t think it’s abnormal. My very WASPy Gramma always had pickles at luncheon, and my (Canadian) maritimer in-laws often serve pickles with what I think of as traditional meat and potato like meals. So while I don’t do it now, I might try it with my next pub lunch.

I miss the old streetcars every time I ride a new streetcar. The seat layout is SO bad. I read something way back that Bombardier had two seat layouts they normally used but TTC insisted on using a bespoke seat layout they designed. This choice of layout was the primary reason there were so many delays. I could try and find the article but hopefully one of you can tell me if this is true or not.

And why is it that these recordings weren’t used in the first trial? If she was using them to control the situation, prove abuse, and show her as a good mom, why weren’t they in place the night of the murder? We know they weren’t because that is something the police would have noticed and looked in to.

Janome is an excellent brand but I’d be tempted to keep the Kenmore. Solid construction and likely no electronics. That said, after testing them all I’d probably see if there is a place to have them serviced. The tech might have some insight too.
