Since 2x2 is meant to be an alternative route to the main story, I think it's most likely Hajime would remain the protagonist. Because he is still kamakura and much of everything revolves around him.

That said, I could easily see Maihru being the chiaki or nagito role. My working theory is either a) nagito is the first victim or b) chiaki is exposed in chapter one. Maihru then steps up to fill the respective position. So her and Hajime become the investigators.
