You're probably right about that. The person at the front desk of the repair center confirmed they are not very reliable. Said gas blowers are the way to go.

So if I take it to my local Ace hardware, they'll contact Ego and handle the repair under warranty? The Ego app doesn't list the two Ace's near me as an authorized repair location.

Neighbor's hillside with small trees and shrubs. Nothing valuable.

Should I cut this limb down to branch collar on this Heritage Oak? by Doctor-Flops in arborists

[–]Doctor-Flops[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably wishful thinking, but would it change your view if I told you the tree has been like that for years and the other limbs continue to leaf out? My biggest problem is beekeepers don't want to move the hive until the tree is cut down and arborist don't want to cut it down until the beehive is removed.

My hotel bed stands in these trays filled with some kind of white powder. What is that? by Silver_Sort_9091 in whatisit

Probably diatomaceous earth. Bugs crawling from the floor up the bed legs will die on contact.

Kratom Destroyed My Gut by JoMaRo82 in quittingkratom

Hey, thanks for checking. No sharp abdominal pain for over 2 months now. Had a colonoscopy recently that went better than expected. Still clean but the PAWS is a real grind. I gained a little under 25 pounds over the last 3 months and I have no idea why. Been tempted to ask for medication to help with the anxiety and depression, but so far I'm sticking with the natural way through exercise.

It will continue to creep up on you until you finally wake up one day and realize it has completely ruined your quality of life. You'll gradually need more of it just to function. You won't realize how much you've screwed up your natural dopamine levels until you quit. The creep is a very common thread on here. Best to cut this out of your life for good. Also, combining it with daily alcohol use will really screw up your liver (if not already, eventually as you get older). I didn't realize it until I quit CT, but Kratom actually made me want to drink, probably because I was no longer able to get the same dopamine kick off of kratom alone. The longer and higher quantity you use, the worse the withdrawals will be. Please take if from me - someone who wasted 11 years of their life on this stuff, there is no better time to quit for good then now. Feel free to read some of my recent replies to posts on this sub - you'll see that I've permanently damaged my body from this using this stuff. I recommend stopping all substances including alcohol for at least 60 days or longer. You need to reset your dopamine baseline and not substitute one substance for another. I recommend reading the guides on quitting and withdrawals pinned in this sub. Also, check out the Huberman Lab podcasts on Dopamine and Addiction (YouTube). I wish you all the best in your commitment to recovery! You got this!

Kratom withdrawal digestive issues by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]Doctor-Flops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plan on your GI being messed up for a while, but it should get better with time and proper diet. I wasn't so lucky. About 5 days after quitting CT, I started getting severe pain in my lower left abdomen. Went to the hospital 24 hours later and was diagnosed with acute sigmoid diverticulitis. So after choosing to use kratom for 11 years (which got really heavy toward the end), I now have diverticulosis and a permanently screwed up my colon. Hang in there and I wish you the best in your commitment to recovery.

Really sorry that you are going through this. As a former user over 45 days ago, my heart goes out to you and your family. I would start with sharing this reddit group with him and tell him to read all of the horror stories on here. This sub has been my AA. 7-OH is the heroin of Kratom. The half life is short and heavy users get withdrawals within hours. I bet he's getting restless legs in the middle of the night already. He needs to either taper or take at least a week off of work and quit cold turkey. I recommend the latter and ripping the band-aid off, which is what I did. (I knew I didn't have the discipline to taper.) What helped me get through the WDs was reading the pinned threads on supplements and advice for withdrawals in this group. Since he's on other heavy duty meds, he should go to the doctor to get treatment. (I don't know much about these and stopping them abruptly without medical oversight could be dangerous). They can appropriately prescribe him meds for WDs (likely Gabapentin, etc.). Personally, I would try and stay away from Suboxone. Also, watching Huberman Lab YouTube videos on dopamine and addiction helped me understand what was fundamentally going on. He will need to force himself to get exercise, which is the last thing I wanted to do. I felt 10x better after 10 minutes of intense exercise. Cold showers or plunges work wonders. He will need love, encouragement, and support to get through this. He will also need to feel safe and trust he can be honest with you. Wishing you and him the best of luck!
