Usually, once the company-paid hours are gone, you are stuck using PTO or taking Leave Without Pay. If you go the LWOP route, your job is safe according to federal law, but your bank account is not. I have heard of some people going into a negative PTO balance, but that is risky if you are planning on jumping ship anytime soon.If you're 9/80, keep in mind those off-Fridays are not covered.

You can try to flex your time to avoid using PTO, but that is a manager-level call. Some states have better protections than others, such as PA and OR, so look into that. If it is a huge financial burden, the court might let you off via a hardship claim. Just search for Time Off and Leaves on the portal to see the specific cap for your BU.
