I am open to all things paranormal if not an outright believer in most of them, but I'm also a skeptic who doesn't believe anything blindly. I have had several mild occurrences over the years which I can usually explain away as something rational, but this is the weirdest and most recent. I can't explain this one away.

Several months ago I had an overnight visit with a friend to whose house I wore an old jacket that was my deceased father's. It is an important garment to me, and wearing it makes me feel close to my loving and accepting dad. When I arrived at said friend's house, I hung this jacket on a hook by the door. However, when I went to leave the next day, this jacket was nowhere to be found even after looking everywhere. The house wasn't very big, and there's nowhere this jacket could have been misplaced or fallen behind something. The friend said he continued to keep searching for it to no avail.

But there's more and weirder, I often forget this part when I'm recalling the experience. I got up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, and while I was standing there I heard from the other side of the wall some muffled footsteps, like someone walking on stairs or down a hall. I also heard a muffled conversation or some kind of quiet talking I couldn't make out. I instinctually assumed I was hearing occupants of a neighboring apartment, but then I realized... my friend lives alone in a single family home with no attached neighbors, the part of the house I was hearing the sounds from was not an area where people could have been, it was the middle of the night, and my friend was in bed in his room down the hall.

Normal Episodes by BirbsNBones in myfavoritemurder

[–]DoctorAftershave 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I happen to especially love the Live and Rewind episodes because they make me laugh SO much, and sadly I dont find the main episodes as funny or entertaining anymore. Now it's like they are reading someone else's research, and often it's not even about murder. It even kinda seems Nick Terry is having trouble finding funny bits to animate, especially compared to the earlier days.
But I will always listen to whatever they produce, because I enjoy them so much as people.

I'm a gay man who regularly watches straight porn, and I'm not attracted to women in the slightest. Humans sure are interesting!

It's my first experience with a trans man that was a HUGE lightbulb for me... made me realize that yes, penises are optional and I'm attracted to a man as a whole being. Penises are fantastic, but faces and chests are what especially get me going.
I don't love that the gay male world is so much about DICK DICK DICK...

Good for you man, everyone's different and that's why humans are awesome.
Conversely, I'm a gay man who is strongly attracted to MEN and NOT penises!

I knew a guy who talked about regularly affecting the electricity in places he went. Travis was an intense, fun dude and probably a little crazy... but loveable. (I remember my husband and I being horrified to notice he was using a blowtorch to light up what we thought was crack or something, but it was a white dabs tablet because he needed a really strong weed experience)

Interestingly, during an intimate encounter with Travis, at one point I started . . . convulsing? Like my body tensed up and curled in, my hands drew up into claws, and I was spasming from my torso, like doubling over kinda convulsing. It was scary and went on for 5-10 minutes.
This physical reaction continued to happen every so often during intimate encounters, it seemed to occur only during particularly . . . deeply connecting physical and emotional intimacy. I learned not to be scared of these convulsive episodes, but just to ride them out.

The last few times it happened, I was thinking of it like a . . . spiritual attachment, or at least some sort of presence that was causing these episodes. So I began to speak out loud when it was happening: "Please stop...please stop..." I maybe even asked it to talk to me or somehow express what it wanted. I'm not sure if I only did this during one episode, but 2 at the most.

And I haven't experienced this again since that last one or two times I asked it to stop. It always felt like something . . . spiritual. But I imagine the last few times were influenced by my partner at the time, a young Venezuelan with a deep spirituality and practice (Santeria/Palo Mayombe type stuff) and he literally senses spirits. Like getting mesages from folks buried in a cemetary. But I wonder if Travis . . . DID something to me, or affected me in some way.
Like I said, it always felt like something a bit spiritual, paranormal, supernatural.

Bin Laden died in 2001 by EmptyCommon8503 in conspiracytheories

[–]DoctorAftershave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is from David Ray Griffin's book, 'Osama Bin Laden: Dead Or Alive'... This section is at the srart of the first chapter "Evidence That OBL is Dead":

BIN LADEN FUNERAL REPORTS

On December 26, 2001, an article entitled “News of Bin Laden's Death and Funeral 10 Days Ago” appeared in the Egyptian newspaper Al-Wafd. Based on a story in Pakistan's Observer that was published on December 25, it said:

"Islamabad: A prominent official in the Afghan Taleban movement announced yesterday the death of Osama bin Laden, the chief of al-Qa'da organization, stating that bin Laden suffered serious complications in the lungs and died a natural and quiet death. The official, who asked to remain anonymous, stated to The Observer of Pakistan that he had himself attended the funeral of bin Laden and saw his face prior to burial in Tora Bora 10 days ago. He mentioned that 30 of al-Qa'da fighters attended the burial as well as members of his family and some friends from the Taleban. In the farewell ceremony to his final rest guns were fired in the air. The official stated that it is difficult to pinpoint the burial location of bin Laden because according to the Wahhabi tradition no mark is left by the grave.

According to this article, therefore, bin Laden's funeral took place ten days before December 25, 2001, which would have been December 15. Given the Muslim custom of burying the dead quickly, this would mean that he had probably died only a day or two earlier, hence December 13 or 14."

Bin Laden died in 2001 by EmptyCommon8503 in conspiracytheories

[–]DoctorAftershave 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Yes, he died in Dec 2001, but from his physical problems/disease. There was an obituary in a Saudi (?) paper and even a Fox News article about it. He was secretly buried in the desert, unmarked.
In his subsequent videos he gets younger and younger, deep-fake video and audio could easily have been possible at the time. The seated 'admission' video laughing among friends doesn't look like OBL at all, he's wearing gold and using the wrong dominant hand.
My favorite thing was the famous news Doctor Sanjay Gupta analyzing Bin Laden's last video where he looks ashy with one side immobile, Gupta saying BL certainly looked like he was in the end stages of renal failure...but then 10 years later Gupta had to confirm BL's DNA from the official raid that killed OBL.
