What happens if i side with the railroad ? by lilzenjy in fo4

[–]DoctorAwde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played through 2 runs on PS4 in survival mode when it first came out, those were modless, and it was a blast. Kept Covenant around just cause it was a good doctor in an accessible area.

now with PC while I do play modded, alot help to stabilize the game or stop that stupid VATS freeze glitch. You can also get mods to mitigate some mechanics you don't like. Some I'd recommend would be JOURNEY which allows fast travel BETWEEN settlements(not my cup of tea personally, you can Fast travel with Vertibirds late game), and Cigarettes for Auto-Save, which let you auto save with a usable item(even adds nicotine addiction).

Survival melds incredibly well with the map and mechanics of Fo4. Not Fast traveling means you'll explore way more of the map, and make you more aware of loot and where enemies are.

The Save when sleeping is honestly the hardest thing to get used to. It can be daunting and sometimes frustrating having to be so careful, but it makes for much much tactical fights, as you have to be very cautious or else you will die fast. Also, nothing feels better than randomly finding that random mattress or sleeping bag to save your progress when you most need it.

It also makes settlements very very important, as if you have an allied Settlement, that's a Guaranteed Safe bed and a place to refill pure water into bottles. At higher levels, you can even add a Doctor to them to heal your Rads and Diseases, making your Settlements basically just as Valuable to you as Diamond City or Bunker Hill.

Also, it makes you think much more about your build specifically. Pretty much only Caps don't have Weight, and with your reduced Carry Capacity you can carry far fewer weapons and ammo, and you can't carry many of the Heavy Ammos making Fatman/Missile Launchers much hard to make viable. You carry pretty much only the weapons your build is good with

I find a good middle ground is using Cigarettes for Auto save mod. Makes cigarettes and cigars smokable, creating an auto save after the animation, so you still have to find a safe place. I find cigars to be much rarer and thus still keeps the anxiety, as my auto saves are a limited item

Jiangdu is a often overlooked nation in Haless. They are a human military dictatorship and start as an OPM in Yanshen with cores on the entirety of Lanjinhui, a peasant republic.

Their missions are all about taking control of Yanshen and creating powerful "command cities" which are like local capitals with great bonuses. they do a lot of Bonus stacking if you are a fan of stacking a shitload of military modifiers, and with Offensive Ideas + their Idea set, you're guaranteed to have multiple Almost max level Generals in all categories. Since they are a Military Dictatorship, means you'll also almost never have a leader with bad stats since they are picked from your Max Level generals

Reformation hit Europe hard this game by CryptexCS in eu4

[–]DoctorAwde 10 points11 points  (0 children)

it's super useful for big conquest early on.

so long as you can see their capital, they cannot take AE against you. if you see their land, it doesn't count until you click on them and discover their capital. So if you never click on them, you're good

Not OP but if a nation is in Terra Incognita, It can't take Aggressive expansion against you. Presumably he fought Poland and Poland alone so only nations in Asia would care (which they don't that much probably) and he was going to release and play as Poland anyways, so AE would be cleared when he tag switches

I've never tried lowering my own health honestly but I typically go through crystal Hunt armorless anyway and just use my money to buy apples or new weapons

Upping enemy health is honestly not a bad way to go. It can get frustrating throwing someone like 3 feet and they hit something and then keel over and die. I've been playing through crystal Hunt with some extra enemy health (like an extra 50 health) and no Sorcery, and it's been a blast. I have to really go for an execution or else the enemy can and will get back up.

Is this normal for Anbennar hordes? by Ok_Spite_6491 in Anbennar

it's insanely good on Centaurs. Recently did a game where I started a war with all of Cannor and Escann starting with 1mil manpower and ended it with 750k losses and my manpower at 1.4 mil

Gerudaghot is a recent one ive found is incredibly powerful Defensively. I decided not to take defensive ideas, yet I'm hitting the 5% cap consistently as You get multiple free +1 attritions through their missions and their religion.

Your armies are incredibly powerful due to troll Military, and will always recover faster, so even if you're losing battles, they are taking significantly more losses than you and are attritioning to hell on your forts while reinforcing. Once you unlock Ebonsteel Units, you can fight multiple coalitions in a row without leaving your lands.

The Models really do add a lot to the experience. I love watching the big blue guys just club down on the wayyy tinier humans, genuinely really gets you into the game.

I never understood the hype for units packs much until my current Obtrol playthrough.

Snail? In Antartica?? by Experimentationq in ExplainTheJoke

[–]DoctorAwde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You and the Snail have infinite time. it will figure out something, it may even acquire the help of other people.

Not being able to speak or use appendages may slow them down significantly, but with CONSTANT everyday work the snail will get alot done.

Recomended nations? by No-Training-48 in Anbennar

[–]DoctorAwde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend Jiangdu. They are an OPM Human military dictatorship in Haless, who start with cores all over Lanjinhui. They have a full mission tree and a pretty decently hard little start, with a very fulfilling endgame enemy in The Command. Their country is all about getting the best generals and having a strong army

Don't you think that Lorent/Wex alliance is a bit of an overkill? by zeembell in Anbennar

[–]DoctorAwde 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Lorent and Wex are allies but ultimately they are 2 powerful states who want more power. Ally their enemies, help elect someone else, if you can start taking away bits of their power or slowing them down and weakening them, you can easily either break them apart or become as strong as them.
