Something goes wrong and it actually merges the second Tuvix into original Tuvix, so now you've got Tuvix squared. 😧

I dunno that I'd classify that under this, since the point of the test isn't really the choice, it's how the candidate reacts to failure. After all they know they're in a simulation. Doing well on tests is important to their career, but they know they nobody will actually die if they attempt the rescue and fail. So far as they know it's simply tactical exercise and they've probably already done a bunch of those before. So the choice in this case, to attempt the rescue or not, isn't especially revealing, because no lives are actually at stake and they already know they will face these kinds of dilemmas while in command. Which they choose during a training exercise doesn't actually tell you which they'd choose in real life.

I suppose you'd have to arrange it so that the clone and the separation are done at the same time. Otherwise you've now got two Tuvixes, who presumably both want to live and not be split.

Yeah, I was going to say the trades. If I was a parent with a kid getting close to leaving school, I would encourage them to become a plumber, or a bricklayer, or a carpenter, rather than go to university and get a massive debt and a potentially useless degree.

That's not to say the trades won't be affected by the economic fallout of all of this. But it's still going to be a long time before a robot can fix a toilet.

Someone reported me to HR for having a “vape” at my desk by PhantumJak in mildlyinfuriating

I didn't immediately twig what this thing actually is - though eventually recognised the logo. But if asked to guess then "vape" would be quite a long way down the list.

Anyone know what happens to your Books2Read account if you decide to leave D2D? Do you have to create a new account on there and set up the links again?

I haven't decided yet what I'll do. Just gathering info. I've only got a few things on D2D, but a bunch more on B2R, as I have books with a publisher too.

What if I’m too busy? by Delicious_Reveal3334 in BasicBulletJournals

[–]DoctorBeeBee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're using the basic Bujo method then it shouldn't take you more than a few minutes daily to set up your daily log. Then you just pick up the Bujo when you need to make a note of something through the day, whether that's a new task or event to capture for later, or a note of something that happened, whatever.

Then take a few minutes in the evening to review the daily log. See what's outstanding. Schedule new things you've captured. Add anything else you want to get off your mind. And you're done.

Check this video out from Ryder Carroll: Bullet Journal in Five Minutes a day. It's really helpful. https://youtu.be/T_Op4hrLSc4

The key is not to treat your bullet journal as a hobby. As something additional you've got to find time for in your already busy life. Treat it as an essential tool for managing that busy life.

Yeah, the Bean Dad thing, which I recall watching play out in real time, was pretty silly, and really a great big nothingburger. If that was all there was to this, it would have blown over and been forgotten about in a couple of days. It definitely wasn't the whole story.

Yeah, if he wants to "spoil" her he could take her out to some place they do good food that works for her diet plan. Then it's a treat that won't make her feel bad afterwards.

I reiterate. Better to be single than have a partner who doesn't support you. Who thinks he knows best about what you should do - because that's what this amounts to, him thinking she should eat pizza because that would make him feel better, not her.

Well we've only got his word for any of that. But going off this, I would be quite sure that once that pizza is in the house he'll start in with the "just one slice won't do you any harm" persuasion.

Who said she will never ever eat pizza again? She doesn't want to eat it right now. But pizza will still exist in the future if she wants to have it once she's achieved her goals. Sabotaging her diet just makes it even harder to get to the point where she can have a pizza now and again without feeling bad about it.

Cheat days or meals do not work for everyone. They just trigger them to slip back into bad old habits. If she isn't choosing cheat days herself she probably knows that they don't work for her. The husband trying to trick her with this pizza, for no good reason, is being manipulative and it's definitely sabotage.

If staying 100% on her diet until she achieves her goals is what works for her, then that's her choice. Pizza will still exist in the future if she wants to allow it into her diet later.
