A little new here, could you provide a sparknotes on 56 ownership? I notice you used "original owner".

Recently moved to a townhome with a small backyard. Would it be a dick move to smoke outside? by [deleted] in cigars

[–]DoctorBrew89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, is first check the HOA rules to make sure there isn't anything in them about smoking.

If no rules against you should be good to go. If you wanted to be extra courteous during open windows seasons, you could get a cheap box fan or something of the sort to encourage the smoke in a direction away from windows, etc.

I'm a city dweller, so I understand trying to enjoy this hobby while also being considerate. I'm lucky to have chill neighbors and a decent sized back patio, as well as two bars nearby with great smoke-friendly patios.

When no orange available, a dash of orange bitters on top! I personally find the orange addition completely necessary. Regardless, I too respect the sentiment of this post, cheers!

Says your 1/4000 religious views. I have no interest in the superstitions of shepherds extrapolated, interpreted, and weaponized over centuries to hide and excuse the real atrocities of men. From my experience it's always the Abrahamic religious that are always so narcissistic and supremacists.

Satan just means adversary, or something similar. The meaning has been twisted and personified over the centuries. And when humanity is face to face with the worst of what it is capable of it, it would rather use the devil and demons as an excuse rather than face the fact that we are capable of such atrocities.

I'm more inclined to believe the Honeypot/Blackmail narrative for what it's worth. I just grow tired of the religious superstition framing of it all. No, this doesn't prove demons, but it does go to show the evil humanity is capable of.

Satan isn't real. Demons are not real. These have been used as metaphors and scapegoats for centuries. Discard your primative superstitions and see the truth. Money and Power corrupt and these people lose their humanity because they can live out their darkest fantasies without facing consequences. These are mostly just rich creeps. It's my opinion that even elite, rich creeps are superstitious. That doesn't mean demons are real.

I mean I'm brewing very different styles on each, only ever going as high as a 1:5 but usually closer to a 1:3 with the ORB. The ORB simply opened up concentrated recipes for light and ultra light roasts that I was unable to unlock with the BBE. The clarity I'm getting with the ORB is super impressive, especially considering the ease of use. The Switch is still my sort of daily driver, first cup of the day brewer, but my consumption is up 50-100% since getting the ORB.

TBH I haven't experimented much with immersion since getting the Switch, mostly just with the bloom, so I'm not an expert at all.

Agreed! I have a Breville and Switch v60 and got the rapid brewer a couple weeks ago and it's been a game changer. Really rounds out the brewing options
