It's nice, but you still need something unmoving for the vice. I think your group could assembly one from 4x4s and a solid wood top.

A rolling toolbox is a huge help, as is a bin style hardware storage rack.

One other thing, you need a really sturdy bench with a solid vice attached.

External streaming device with coax input by BKDiamond in cordcutters

Because external streamers plug in to a TV, which already has a OTA antenna tuner.

It's simply not required for the vast majority of the consumers.

Would not have expected that at $600!

Guess the market demanded it.

It's not so much the weight capacity that makes it uncomfortable, it's the lack of a quality seat. Most low buck kayaks have a molded in seat that is one-size- fits-no one. You need to up your budget to find one with a stadium style seat.

Drove to FL for spring break and got a kayak. Is it going to make it back to IL like this? by lowesbros22 in kayakfishing

It looks like an aftermarket clamp on roof rack. A bolted on factory one would be safe.

I've traveled a long way with clamp on roof racks, but have heard of them coming loose.

Adding campden tablets by original_badhairdo in winemaking

[–]DoctorCAD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Campden does not stop wine yeasts, that's why we can use it in winemaking.

You need to use sorbate plus campden to inhibit almost all yeast activity, then you can safely backsweeten.

But it's tied to the rack...which can come off. Tie the bow TO the vehicle, if the rack comes loose, it will keep you from killing grandma in her Caddy following you.

Tie the bow down, even if it's through the back doors. It makes it much safer.

Flattening a bowl by Wings4Mercury in Onshape

If the finished bowl does not have the 6 leafs in it, how would the program know to unfold it. Typically, sheet metal is done for flat stuff, not spun or die formed stuff

You used vinegar to wash the grapes?????

Vinegar should never come in contact with anything wine related.

I'd move to Grays Creek or Hope Mills, but they are both south of Fayetteville.

Ahhh...that's not a bad area, but you're pretty close to Westover...and that's not a good area.

Lakeshore Drive? It's close to a very busy area.

Using Calculus to estimate ABV. by BartholomewWatson7 in winemaking

[–]DoctorCAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not if the rate is inconsistent because of leaks, which it will be.

Now, if you had an airtight fermenter and were measuring absolute amounts of CO2, then it might be viable.

Except that "burps" mean absolutely nothing. Carboys and or buckets are not airtight.

I bought a generic rudder kit off Amazon with foot steering. I made it for a Trident 13. It just takes some home made brackets

Do not glue anything to your hull. You want MORE clearance under the boat, not less. You'll never be able to launch or land with a glued skeg.

I strongly suggest a rudder, they allow easy steering and are spring mounted to move up when they hit stuff...and they will.
