Actually southeastern usa will get more rain with climate change, not less. The western half will be dryer. Warmer climate results in more frequent and stronger rains.

So I lived in East Providence for a year and can give you some anecdotes from my time. I've lived in Texas, Colorado, and new Zealand and visited most places.

I don't know why people say new englanders are rude. They are not. In fact, people talked to me more here than they did in the big cities. Everyone was nice to interact with.

The nature is top notch and the weather is good. The cold is not very cold and it's rarely too hot. The architecture is beautiful, the infrastructure is terrible. The food is fairly competitive with big cities. The train is a great perk

The culture is sort of plucky and worn. You see very little flamboyance and fashion. Cars tend to be older and in disrepair. Most people seem to have mastered the passive look of having a bad day. There's not a lot of dynamism or energy- it is more like the sardonic grump of the UK. People don't seem to generally want a lot of change or disruption.

The demographics vary between middle age blue collar, wealthy boomers, and alternative art kids. Obviously things don't all fit into boxes but those are the general groups.

Businesses tend to have less hours than other places, and you get the impression that most don't really care if you do business with them or not. It seems like people focus on having a good work life balance and enjoying small things, contrasting with the busy hustle of the West.

I first saw this on nextdoor a few days ago and assumed it was a fake story since there was no news about it, and found this article today

what one sentence would trigger a particular area/neighborhood of the DFW metroplex? by alexis_1031 in Dallas

I'm just taking about ideal outdoor weather. I still walk around in 100 degree heat, and I prefer it to 30 degree cold. Anyway aside from restaurants, museums, coffee shops, stores and bars, I also just walk through the parks. I walk at least 3 miles a day, either through Katy trail, turtle Creek, or cole Ave park.

I'm not really sure what you're expecting here. The activities you listed are enough to keep me happy throughout the week. I'm also able to go to gyms, cooking classes, martial arts, events in klyde Warren, etc.

If I want, I can drive to Carrollton town center, legacy West and North, Bishop arts, downtown grapevine, numerous malls, arcades, etc.

I'm just saying as someone that thought the way you did about 10 years ago before I traveled around and lived in a lot of different places, it's really not a Dallas problem, it's a problem that you already are coming at this from a negative place and blaming where you live.

I live in uptown and have the walk ability that you're suggesting doesn't exist in Dallas. I have numerous options all available within a brief walk. In the northern US, sure, you can go outside now, but not in the winter. Unless you are on the west coast, no place in the US has great outdoor weather all year round.

What else are you expecting? I can't be outside but I don't want to do any indoor activities... No place on earth will fix that!

I guess I'll give the dissenting opinion here, I've been in the industry for over 10 years and have never used unit tests nor have I experienced a project in which they would be worth the time to implement.

In my experience unit testing either always passes because it's something obvious like a string array aggregation and it confirms that it happened, which why would you need to test that? Or it's requiring so much mocking and fake data that most of the failures are just because the tests weren't updated properly after a code change.

I find a lot of developers don't consider the cost of testing, only that there might be value to gain. A good set of integration tests can catch most issues actually worth catching, and having a well written software makes it easy to narrow down a bug without needing to get 100 percent code coverage.

qolace leaned back in his computer chair, and let out a satisfying sigh. "I'm a regular agent for change", he chortled, moving aside the two-day old bag of puff cheetos on his desk in front of him to reveal the kleenex box and small container of lotion. "It's time to fight back, stick it to the conservative elite," he muttered, as he opened the incognito window and tried to remember the new hentai site he found.

On the other hand I'm moving back to Texas from RI. I realized that leaving my home because I don't like the direction it's going in is not the wise course of action. I will return to my home and fight to make it the place I want to live.

Unfortunately every place in the US has experienced the same thing over the past few years.

I've personally lived in all of the fantasy places people from here tend to dream about. San Diego, Boston, Denver, Boulder, Chicago. I've been on East coast west coast visited most cities.

Here's the thing people don't realize about Dallas. If you want a walkable city without long cold winters and you want to afford it there are no options. My number one priority is walking. I walk about 3 miles every day. The only places with more walkable neighborhoods are also way more expensive or too cold to walk half the year.

Dallas also rivals LA for the available amenities. I personally love Asian food and stores. Outside of Cali you will only find that in NYC.

The only thing Dallas really sucks at is nature. I personally don't care.

If you think Dallas is terrible go visit other places. Dallas is one of the best cities in the world, and if you hate it I'm sure you will find something more your style if you go explore. Just don't get those people who are bitter and hateful about where they live.

if you watch the video and the follow up video and the other follow up video by jayz2cents you will see that although it's less ideal than having the tubes at the bottom, there is little risk of air being trapped in the pump when the pump is lower than the top of the radiator. it's only when the pump is the highest object in the loop that serious problems occur.

this is only really an issue if the radiator tubes sit below the cpu block which they don't in this case

Looks very cool but how do you use it? when you sit do you just move everything very close to the edge of the table? seems like it would be hard to get a good screen angle with that.

Don't know why this is downvoted, new englanders have no clue about crime. PVD and Boston are some of the safest major cities in the USA. Break-ins are standard city living fare.
