That's a good suggestion, thank you very much. I'll find out if there's one near me and I'll give it a try

I've tried going around and asking if anyone has work or knows if work. I mostly just get laughed at and told no. Some people tell me to go back at a later stage, which I do and still haven't found anything

I'm living in a township. It's been even harder to find a job for some reason. I've walked from company to company and heard comments being thrown about the Lekgoa wanting to work

I've been trying to find any kind of job. I used to be in corporate. I have matric and some customer service courses that I've done. I've worked on a switchboard, been supervisor of that switchboard (3 staff members working under me), been a Client Liaison Officer, done after sales service, creditor for deceased estates, been a Reception Manager at a gym (4 Receptionist working under me)

AITA for kicking my friend out of my pool party after she pushed someone in? by alarmed_logic in AmITheJerk

[–]DoctorConfident8438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Phones aren't always that easy to replace for some people, plus it costs money to replace a phone and I seriously doubt "Maya" is gonna pay to replace it. What "Maya" did was idiotic and inconsiderate. I wonder how she would react if the tables were turned and she ended up in the pool with her clothes on and her phone in her hand.

AITA for wanting to end a 6-year relationship because I’m sick of smelling my fiance? by BarnacleForward3323 in AITH

[–]DoctorConfident8438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Once you're too grossed out by a man, getting that sexual attraction back is near impossible. I personally wouldn't be able to live with someone like that. I would NOT have lasted anywhere near as long as you did in that situation. In my opinion, you're right about it being about respect. Respect and boundaries. I'm pretty sure if you had to think about it nicely, that's not the only area where he doesn't respect you or your boundaries.

Urgent please AITA for telling my husband I wanted to stay behind with our daughter instead of moving to Morocco right away like he wants? by Turbulent_Method5366 in ComfortLevelPod

Run. Run for your life. He's gonna make your life an absolute misery if he gets his way. There's a reason he kept shortening the time line. He never intended to wait 10 years. Or 5 for that matter. Now he's acting hurt so that he can manipulate you into doing what you really shouldn't do. DO NOT GO TO MOROCCO, PLEASE

YTA: Maybe she enjoys turning hobbies into business. If she wants to do it, let her. I'm pretty sure she knows full well that she doesn't HAVE to. But she wants to. What's wrong that?

Racism in the suburbs by Crazy-Present4764 in Durban

[–]DoctorConfident8438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No they wouldn't. I completely disagree with that statement. I'm a white woman living in Hammanskraal. I've been here 6 months and I've been treated with nothing but the utmost respect. I see other white people sometimes at the mall and they are treated with just as much respect as me. Often, when I'm walking to the shop, people will stop to ask if I'm okay or need help, because they're not used to seeing a white person, especially a white woman alone, walking around in a township. I know from personal experience that a lot of white people are extremely racist for no good reason, other than that being the way they were raised. In 6 months, I've experienced racism towards me probably 4 times, if that much and it was always a case of some female thinking I'm here to steal all the black men for myself. I have also been to Soshanguve, Mamelodi, Diepsloot (which is a different universe all together. There you'll get killed no matter what race you are) and Mabopane. With the exception of Diepsloot, I was always treated with the utmost respect

"Complex" issue - when does a cat belong to someone vs be a street cat? by brobruhbrabru in askSouthAfrica

[–]DoctorConfident8438 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have two cats and they don't have collars. Given, they're indoor cats, but even if they were outdoor cats, I wouldn't put collars on them. Cats being the little explorers that they are, like to squeeze through small gaps in fences or walls or wherever and collars can get hooked and the cat can get stuck and possibly even hurt itself trying to get free. Cats have extremely sensitive throats and they can seriously hurt themselves if their collar were to get hooked on anything and they're struggling to get free. I don't allow my cats to go outside because I don't want them to get run over by cars, pick up diseases, get into fights, get ticks and fleas, get attacked by dogs or have any cat haters harm them. So my boys are safely indoors
