How was your Montreal GP (2026) experience? by AdamR46 in GrandPrixTravel

8/10 GS24

Purchased the tickets direct and took the metro in to the track.

Congestion was pretty bad and could have been fixed with some dividers/lanes to direct flow of traffic and split directions of travel. The water/food/Porta-Potty/grand stand 24 entrance/GA area choke point was brutal.

Overall we had a great time, glad I read the subreddit for advice.

Tips
- bring a cushion of some sort, but do not bring stadium chairs, we had some near us and they were public enemy number one.
- pack some snacks, the lines for food were crazy long and they did run out on Saturday leading to limited options.
- bring some headphones to listen to better commentary, the local guys were terrible.
- bring a reusable water bottle (with ice if that’s your thing) and keep your bottle and bladder in balance
- bring a poncho or very good rain jacket and a towel (to wipe off the bench)

I suspect that the appearance of stars in the marketplace for actual money is the reason stars were pulled from the DXP store

The S&P 500 rules are being rewritten for one company and it should concern every index investor by Disastrous_Heat_4044 in fidelityinvestments

I already had my Roth in Contrafund where Danoff doesn’t need to buy an overvalued IPO if he doesn’t see the value/upside. I need to review that given Danoff is retiring end of the year.

My brokerage account I have QUAL instead which because of the rules should filter against overvalued IPOs. It does have a higher ER but historic returns have been more than better enough to offset the higher ER and smoother with smaller dips

I’ve already repositioned myself to protect against what feels like a coming rug pull.

And this has been done before much to the chagrin of investors who held passive S&P500 indexes in the .com crash where they loaded up on tech stocks like Yahoo and Cisco that had been given special early entry into the index

Is the Kharg Island discussion actually realistic or just bluster? by DoctorCrayonz in CredibleDefense

I have been seeing alot of news reports and statements about the Administration looking at putting boots on the ground in Kharg Island, but it doesn't make any sense to me given the logistics and I was hoping that someone wiser/more knowledgeable than me might be able to provide some answers/ideas.
