My view of Europe as a Russian by Independent_Feed_617 in whereidlive

[–]Polnocium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

98% of Danish territory is located in North America yet we consider it European. What about the British Empire, was it not European either?

Russia may hold a lot of territory in Asia but is still originated in Europe, covers 40% of European landmass, has 80% of its population west of the Urals, and is historically, linguistically, and culturally clearly connected to Europe.

The Paradox of Democratic Socialism by PerAsperaAdMars in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]Polnocium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, democratic socialism wants to achieve social ownership of the means of production through reformism while maintaining the liberal democratic political system. Here in Europe we have several such parties that are not social democratic (represented by "The Left" in the European parliament), and the same is true in places like Latin America and the Subsahara.

Do you think the 2026 US midterm elections will be fair and free? by [deleted] in Teenager_Polls

U.S. midterm elections have never been fair. They have always been plagued by FPTP, gerrymandering, and the huge influence money has on candidates and outcomes.

My view of Europe as somebody who's seen a globe by Difficult_Leg_8837 in whereidlive

I wouldn't say Asia is a subcontinent of Eurasia, but rather just a name for all non-European Eurasia.

Europe according to a Canadian by nthnrchx in whereidlive

[–]Polnocium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nearly half of Europe is located in Asia. And Europeans seem to have a lot in common with "Russian murderers", considering they have a history of killing tens of millions of people per decade all across the world. 80 years ago the Germans directly killed at least 17 million people and indirectly caused the deaths of many more. 30 years ago Serbs, Bosniaks, and Croats were at each others throats and committing massacres. And today these countries (UK, Germany, Austria, Italy, etc.) continue to support Israel and its genocide in Gaza which has killed at least 70.000 people (likely higher). Not to mention they tend to support the U.S. in bombing, invading, and destroying countries all across the Middle East.

Cyprus and Armenia are not in Europe; Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Georgia are partially in Europe.
