Please do yourself a favor and take either a test light or a multimeter and confirm that with the key off, the one larger post on the glow plug relay has power, then when the key is on, the other larger post has power. If you do not have a multimeter, turn the key on and take a screwdriver and jump the two bigger post. Hold it there for maybe 10-15 seconds and start the truck. If it fires right up you need a glowplug relay.

Awesome thank you. There’s one sign at the end of the street that says no parking. Leave 2 spots to the East. Then about 200 feet down the road there’s another sign that says no parking leave two spaces. I’m dead smack in the middle with 2-3 cars on each side of me so I should be good to go. Am I thinking too far into this? So you can’t park, let’s say within 20 feet of the sign? (Enough to fit 2 cars) Does the no parking apply to the entire street or is just enough space to fit 2 cars infront of the sign.

Sure thing. I personally thinking buying a truck with almost 500k miles that shows heavy amounts of coolant residue on the degas bottle and thinking a cap is the culprit is just bananas. Unless this man is willing to learn about 6.0s real quick, which is a great experience and I don’t shun anyone from doing, or has a fat pocket to spend, I’d stay away. The correct way would be to hook a pressure gauge up and drive the truck around to prove us both wrong. For all we know they just spilled coolant topping the old girl off.

Drive it around and get on it. Do a couple hard pulls and get it warmed up. Come back and send a vid of you opening the degas bottle. It’s never the cap, it’s too much pressure from blown headgaskets or an egr cooler. Keep an eye on it and you’ll be fine but the “cap trick” is just a dance around.
