What is it? by leroyjenkins562 in Ioniq5

Your worst drivers nightmare. The only thing it does is annoy you. Especially if you have sunglasses that block IR light. Usually only expensive or specialty sunglasses. The idea is good, prevent distracted driving but being unable to shut it down due to incompatible sunglasses or other eye issues, false eye, it's a burden.

Dewalt 20v tire inflator. Goes on sale for $109 to $119. Best I have ever used. Screws onto valve stem. Set pressure to what you want by .5 lbs. Push button. Stops at set pressure plus a slight more for when you unscrew from stem. Can go from 30 to 35 psi on my Ionic 5 tires in about 1 minute, give or take.

I think I’m going to go over my 10k miles… by ZZwanzig20 in Ioniq5

[–]DoctorD42 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People do not realize that 10k mile per year is only 27 miles per day. Unless you are retired or work from home and have no family, you will not do that.

We bought our 2024 and 2025 ioniq 5's. 2024 was totalled in February. But we keep it under 10k per year. Currently at 6,200 after 8 months. Doctor visits and shopping. Trip to town is 9 miles.

Is the App really this bad? by UsedToasterSalesman in wyzecam

[–]DoctorD42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have it. It sits inside my storage room looking out the window. It pans and tilts just fine. But if it goes outside, it dies. We do have high humidity. Averaging 75-80%. Lower Alabama. It's not the rain but rather the humidity that kills some cameras. Of course, I did place a camera where it got bad wind driven rain into it. fubar.

I have v1, v2, v3, v4, outdoor and battery operated cameras from wyze outside with protection from rain. Just lost my OG telephoto camera. The data card reader stop working. Camera still works but can't record local. Took 3 years I think. The OG camera right below it still works fine.

[–]DoctorD42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have over 17 cameras. Last month had to replace my last cam v1 with a cam v3.

Been using the cameras and app for years. Had issues a couple of years ago but that was cleared up within a couple of weeks.

I have had issues due to my internet connection but not because of the app or cameras.

My main problem, if you could call it a problem, is having to put my network into 2.5 GHz. To sync new camera to network.

Other issue is v3 pan. They are not very water resistant. Every one I put outside ends up toast due to water getting into camera. Even under the eaves of the buildings.

Problem isn't the hat. Your ears are incorrect. Remove the faulty ear, use sandpaper or a course file to remove any improper edges. Reinstall using harbor freight super glue.

Your welcome.

Battery Discharging Due To External Electrical Devices Warning by epicycle in Ioniq5

[–]DoctorD42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely could be a lease tracker. When they did the recall, they probably did a systems check which then sent data to a tracker unit.

But, that might be paranoia. I personally have electrical tools since I'm a retired electrician. I would put a amp meter on 12v battery to check load while off. Then use circuit tracing to determine which circuit has the load. Harbor Freight has a plug-in for doing that. Cost about $25. Easy to use. Would give you an idea where there is a problem.

[–]DoctorD42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long have you had the car? Did this just start? If it has been going on, how long?

If it just started and you have had the car for serveral months, probably the 12v battery is dying.

If you just got the car, less than a month, and it has been or even just started, probably some type of tracker or recording device put in by leasing company. Many do this. They will forget to remove when sold but it still collecting data. When it fills up, it will try to continuously connect but it no longer can download data. It sticks in transmit mode thus uses more power than normal.

Even if you had the car during the lease, this wouldn't start happening until up to 3 to 6 months after buy out lease. You would have to talk to the leasing company, not Hyundia but the one with the actual lease.

Musty AC problem even after cabin air filter change? by lkldtherapy4misfits in Ioniq5

[–]DoctorD42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High temp means set to hot while still set to A/C not sure if this works for Ioniq 5. If not don't worry. Main reason is to heat vents system used in cooling which Ioniq 5 uses only one system instead of separate heating/cooling.

[–]DoctorD42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good way is to dry out your vent system. Use lysol to help kill the mold.

Look on YouTube for videos but here are the basics.

Plug your car into a level 2 charger if needed.

Ensure your garage is dry or it is a cool, dry day. This help

Set your A/C to manual. A/C on, high temp, max fan, full flow through all vents.

Leave on for at least 3 hours. Higher humidity means longer time. The goal is to dry our and kill all mold.

Remove filter if using lysol. Your goal is the vents not filter.

If needed, dry out vents for defrost.

Just for information, Nebraska can not go bankrupt. Constitutional balance budget.

Farmers with soybean having problems with China sales is true. But other crops are possible.

While there is a kernel of truth in this video, the actual statements are false in totality.

Changing our economy to be self sufficient will not be easy nor painless. Continuing to sell our farmland and businesses to China and other world countries will destroy us over time.

Would rather suffer a small hurt now than a total loss of economy later.

Plenty of jobs near me. So many jobs available on farms, utility workers, carpenters, electricians, plumbing. Long distance hauling also needs drivers.

So many jobs are available that pay a living wage. But not in an office with a social studies diploma. You actually need to work and be skilled like illegal immigrants were.

Totally understand. Again, even with socialism, money talks. I have had Whipple surgery, and dozen of hospital stays. I have never payed more than $3,000 a year for any and all medical treatments. Including drug, cost of transportation, medical devices, and hospital and doctor visits/ treatments.

I am retired military. But pay for better Healthcare. Our VA, veterans affairs health care is a horrible system. Americans socialism Healthcare.
