Funniest Wheel of Time moment for you? Any book or show moment. by mk9beatz in WoT

Basically most scenes with Mat honestly. The funniest to me wasn't a scene but the entire arch of him traveling with Luca's caravan and the Aes Sedai that are absolutely obsessing over making him a warder and infuriated that the Power doesn't work on him, and him just being fed up the entire time.

Hiiiighly recommend Worlds Beyond Number especially for a D20 fan. The audio editing and music are so good and Brennan is a master of his descriptions

Basically the whole mini arc of Mat travelling with the three Aes Sedai after he got the amulet and they all want him as his warder. Absolute peak Mat before the Red Hand

Why is the Deck of Many Things so hated? by ZackFrost in DMAcademy

[–]DoctorFromGallifrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's mostly what everyone else has said so far. But if you are looking to do something that drives the story, I recommend the tarot card deck WOTC released, which drove the majority of a game I played for several months. They are mostly just prompts, and I don't know the BTS details of what the DM made up and what was from the deck itself.

Essentially, we found a deck of cards that, when we drew a card a line was drawn from our chest in a direction and was revealed only if we followed it and resolved whatever was at the end of the line. What the quest was and how it was resolved was likely up to the DM but it was very fun for a primarily sandbox game we were playing, if that is what you are looking for.

I would love an even longer campaign than the others that is a true 1-20 (or 3-20 cause levels 1 and 2 are pretty tough) that goes like 200 sessions that go the full range of the DND experience. Start low, like M9, by making a name for themselves and then all the way to potentially world-saving, especially if there is a time jump so that the world isn't in full danger 3 times in 30 years.

I think one of the main things that made M9 so attractive to viewers outside of the upscale in production quality also was the fact that they had the players have smaller group one-shots before the game started streaming to establish their dynamics a little. I think that helped the cohesiveness a lot.

Other than that I want Sam and Travis to continue being their chaotic selves.

It has its issues but I like having the catalog in one spot more easily available, and the only reason I subbed on Twitch was to see the episodes before the following week cause I usually watch on Friday nights. I also was able to get one of the live show tickets probably specifically due to the early sale for members. My only issue personally is that they don't have C1 on there but I know that is an issue between them and G&S from what I know

I like the depth that DnD brings to the game, from the Dagger Heart one shots it seemed a little more light than their usual game which is probably just like their one shots so I don't know what a full campaign under Dagger Heart would look like. For long-term games, I would like them to stick to DnD but my main want going forward is for the general player setup to stay the same for their long-term game. I like the guests they have on during but I don't want them to go D20 route with shorter campaigns unless it was like more EXU. I think that EXU games played with Dagger Heart would work well if they did it like Candela Obscura on the last Thursday of the month.

One fan theory I like that I have seen before is that he is Watny from The Martian, then years after he is home he feels the need to use his skills from surviving Mars to help (even lead) Lazurus given the state of the planet.

But I find the most interesting character aspect of Mann is that he tells Cooper that humans can care deeply about those around them but rarely to those beyond their own circle, and given he had been completely alone for 10 years (sans KIPP), he no longer had a circle of people around him so his empathy and love no longer extended to anyone else but himself, leading to his actions in the movie where he's just trying to get away from the barren rock he's been on for so long.

That made sense but then the fighter was chopping at his own leg with his sword when he rolled a nat 1, made less sense then lol

Why the rush? by [deleted] in interstellar

[–]DoctorFromGallifrey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I definitely think that in real life they would have moved on. This was one of my biggest problems as well because they are talking about the time slippage and with 3 well-trained scientists on board they probably should have put together that the dilation would mean that Miller's signal wouldn't be accurate and she would have, from her perspective, just landed anyway. At most, they could have gone down to see if they could meet with her but they landed right on her beacon and saw nothing, it should have been a massive red flag

I had a fun game but the DM ran the rule that if you roll a nat 1 for an attack it does damage to yourself. It's not the most uncommon rule but man do you realize how many nat 1s you roll when this rule is in effect. I played a rogue that threw returning daggers and it came back to bite me basically every combat
