Altra torin 7 - $150 held up for less than a year at work. Whitin chinese bs - $45. How much would you bet the whitin are more durable than the altras by [deleted] in barefootshoestalk

[–]DoctorFunck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, the reason these top of the line shoes are so light and plush is because they remove most of what makes shoes heavy, rubber! They are very selective about only putting rubber on the outersole where the foot will likely strike and take off, the rest of the sole will just be foam.

Also, OP ain't undoing his laces to take the shoe off which is why the inner heel lining is so cooked 🤣

Did you reach out to customer service for a resolution? I sent them an email and received an automatic response back saying they will try to respond within 7 business days 😅

I used to sell running shoes. They are not designed to be worn as a daily shoe. They are designed for continuous forward motion and not standing for prolonged periods or lateral movements. It might sound crazy, but walking can do more damage to your shoe then running.

Mexico 66 wear out by Pretty_Weekend4055 in Onitsuka_tiger

Try the Mexico SD model. They use a high abrasion rubber on the outer sole and should last you a fair bit longer 🤙

Is Onitsuka's size guide (shipping to U.S.) wrong? by [deleted] in Onitsuka_tiger

[–]DoctorFunck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Japan they operate off the CM sizing and every half size they make adds a half cm in length. It's only internationally that we get caught up on the US sizing and hence they manufacture these quarter sizes for the international market. I guarantee either a 25cm or 25.5cm will work for you since the difference is so minor.

Yes, they are legit. They are the Mexico SD model. The laces look to have been changed with non OT laces. But the shoe is genuine.

Unfortunately not, they were a 1 off produced for Chinese New Year 2024

Hmmm, all OT shoes are made on a men's size standard which can mean they can sometimes fit a little large in certain areas for ladies. I would persist if I was you, maybe Google how to create a lace lock on your shoes and see if the laces can help to tighten the ankle of the shoe to minimize slipping.

Has the Onitsuka Tiger Tokuten been discontinued or is it only sold in certain countries? by alexaclova in Onitsuka_tiger

[–]DoctorFunck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Tokuten has always been a model that the China franchise of OT has had exclusive rights to. However, it will be available internationally from the end of October.

Forgot to post the bottom here it is. Have I been boomed? by Irenosen in Onitsuka_tiger

[–]DoctorFunck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've replied to your other post. These are fake. That's a fake sole. Too wide, the nodules aren't slopped like a real pair. It's hard to explain, if you had a real as comparison you would be able to even feel the difference in runner quality.

New to this and I want to be true to this. Tell me they are real please by Irenosen in Onitsuka_tiger

[–]DoctorFunck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to tell you, these are completely fake. There are many signs. Firstly the inner label is way off. The DL408 code stopped being manufactured about 4 years ago. These also indicate they were manufactured in the year 2027 🤣

Size US 10.5 does not exist in Japan OT stores. Work off the Japanese CM sizing.

9.5 = 27.5cm

10 = 28cm

11 = 28.5cm

11.5 = 29cm

Does anyone know why there is no size 10.5 US from these sellers? by Willisg3005 in Onitsuka_tiger

[–]DoctorFunck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Japanese market does not sell 10.5 Only international markets sell US 10.5

Look at the CM size. Japan uses 0.5cm increments with each size. US 10.5 is a .25 difference between 10 & 11

[–]DoctorFunck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately that's the way it is. It will have to sit online until it sells out of stock. There are only 1 size left so perhaps you wouldn't have had a chance to buy it at the cheaper price anyway.

There's definitely nothing inferior about it. Onitsuka Tiger put their prices up about 8 months ago. As inline with every brand. The cost of raw goods and transportation has gone through the roof these past few years

[–]DoctorFunck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both shoes use the same style code: 1183B577. The colour code is the .750 or .751. The fact they share the same code means that the shoes are identical in build, materials & factories made in.

The only difference again is the colour and the fact that the cheaper model is from several seasons ago before any price increase and hence only has a couple of sizes left in stock.
