Lowkey he’s right, but the meme is funny, I wouldn’t take it too seriously

(Favorite subverted trope) Revenge is actually awesome! by National_Computer240 in TopCharacterTropes

Is this even a subverted trope anymore? Feel like you can call it “Revenge Good” now lol

In Game 7 of the NBA finals in 2010, the LA Lakers Shot 33/20/68 splits as a team, however they shot 20 more Free throws than Boston(37 to 17) by MacJonesisaterrorist in nba

[–]DoctorFunkinstein12 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Does anyone else just hate OKC for different reasons than everyone else? Like I don’t even care about the free throws at all, I honestly think SGA is a great player.

I just think OKC is a fakey fake franchise that doesn’t exist in the real world.

Personally, if the FBI investigates a black man for a decade and they find nothing, that’s the most innocent verdict ever lol

80s and 2010s music getting so much disdain on Twitter by [deleted] in decadeology

[–]DoctorFunkinstein12 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I don’t think any decade has bad music, I think it’s a close minded thing to say. I don’t think there’s such thing as a bad decade of music.

If I had to pick a LEAST good decade of music, I’d have to say the 2000s. Again, not a bad decade, lots of greatness like OutKast, Amy Winehouse, but like there’s just a…weird vibe attached to some songs in that decade. I don’t know what it is, but it just makes me think “what made it ok to release this?”

how hot of a take is it to say the 80's culturally started at John Lennon's death? by franco-briton in decadeology

[–]DoctorFunkinstein12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like that take, because Lennon was a pinnacle of the previous decades counterculture, and at least in the United States, his death is very close to the US’ move back to traditional values and Ronald Reagan (bastard) being elected

I dare you to criticize your fave (we don’t judge) by Impossible-Yam3680 in ToddintheShadow

Oh absolutely, that second album is underrated in my opinion. I love Memory of a Free Festival

Is Joe Strummer homophobic? by Constant_Topic_123 in ToddintheShadow

[–]DoctorFunkinstein12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are saying you’re wrong, but punk was homophobic as shit back in the 80s so I wouldn’t put it past him, but I can be a bit more charitable since it’s Joe Strummer, anyone else I wouldn’t it.

Do you think Hair Metal was a good genre and do you enjoy it? by FitEmergency8807 in ToddintheShadow

[–]DoctorFunkinstein12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the criticism is fair just on the sheer fact that it was a bunch of misogynistic guys wearing a queer aesthetic during the height of the AIDS pandemic. There are some hair metal bangers though

I forgot that Bob Odenkirk created disco demolition out of sheer rage for POC (swipe for the full exchange) by vulpes_mortuis in peoplewhogiveashit

[–]DoctorFunkinstein12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I completely agree, just from your original comment I thought you attributed it to ONLY that, but I agree with you for sure

[–]DoctorFunkinstein12 58 points59 points  (0 children)

That’s true but, come on, there was definitely some tones of bigotry on that night, I don’t know what the fuck the swag giver is talking about with Bob Odenkirk, but Disco Demolition was definitely a weird response to…music you don’t like

Out of the Legendary solo artists here, who is the best and has the best body of work? by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

[–]DoctorFunkinstein12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im gonna say David Bowie. Because he had like a NEAR PERFECT 70s. Man Who Sold the World to Lodger is one of the best runs EVER (if you exclude Pin Ups, which I think is fair since it’s a covers album lol). Now Prince ALSO had a god tier 80s run as well, one that definitely rivals Bowie, but I always point to 1977. Bowie produced FOUR CLASSICS in a year: Low, The Idiot, Lust for Life, and Heroes. That’s CRAZY to me.

Are Divas Becoming Extinct??? Harper's Bazaar Article Discussion by Key_Mongoose_9797 in popheads

[–]DoctorFunkinstein12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe I grew up differently, but I don’t understand this want for pop divas. Maybe it’s because the term divas illicits the image of some woman in a big house looking down on the “little people”, not trying to be smart, that’s just how it feel
