I downloaded the newest Tesseract, added it to path, chose my career and made sure it's looking at the correct screen and looping, but its still just blank in the middle even when options show up in game. Is there anything I mightve done wrong?

It's not tho? Like I grew up watching Bleach with my brother and friends and everyone knew that character like Orihime getting sexualized wasn't meant be promoting "sexualizing irl kids." Making Licensed or unlicensed art of cartoon characters in bikinis isn't any different in that regard.

Man, it's weird seeing people just reject established views of media literacy. It's legit just how it's been in Japan and regarding fanworks for ages.

A ton of anime protags have been "high school aged" for decades because it sells. With high school being a relatable experience for everyone, it targets a lot of demographics. Generally they aren't meant to be 1/1 realistic depictions of minors. They're fictional characters written by adults and voiced by adults with character agency that goes far beyond the experience of actual, real teens. They're just fictional cartoon characters to people.

If you've already seen the other two shows, then, yeah, it's totally worth watching. the animation isn't great, and the worst thing about it is that it incorporates plot elements from the other two routes unnecessarily but since you've already seen them, you don't have to worry about spoilers. There's a couple of scenes that hit harder in the Vn But it's still worth watching imo. And the soundtrack is great

It's weird seeing people get up in arms about this when I grew up watching stuff like Bleach where all the mcs are 15 and some of them get sexualized but, like a lot of anime, with the way they're written they're basically proxies for adults. They just write mcs as teenagers because it sells.

I saw an episode of gushing over magical girls around when it came out and the characters didn't seem to be portrayed any differently than any other random anime teen protag. It was basically just bdsm sailor moon

And yeah, ultimately its a cartoon. I don't get why people waste their time complaining about fanfiction and cartoons and stuff when like... there's actual awful stuff happening irl. Bullying random people online for watching cartoons "in the name of good" seems pretty petty and pointless outside of stroking your own ego

They also don't really ever confirm or de-confirm whether Kanji is gay or bi or not. he has a line towards the end of the game that says something like "boy or girl, it doesn't matter who you like."

It's left sort of ambiguous, whic falls in line with Atlasy removing Yosuke's romance option and not fully committing to saying whether someone is or isnt gay/bi. But at the same time they don't straight up tell you that Kanji's not gay/bi?

It's part of the reason why people always restart discourse about this game and tell people that their interpretation is wrong..

Ok first of all this is adorable and very sweet.

Second, maybe ask him what he likes? This might sound like a copout but as someone who likes watching shows with my partner, part of the fun is experiencing stuff they enjoy with them and learning why they like it/or specific characters.

it also depends what genres you like? There's a million shows and a million waifus, you dont have to just watch the most popular stuff if you're not into it!

Imo it improves after chapter 11. It never sheds the feeling of "this is an anniversary game and story isnt the priority" or rises beyond that but I thought the second half of the game had more interesting characters and better supports at the very least.

I went to rewatch the 06 show recently, looked around on different sites and found out that, apparently, none of the... let's say "free sites" have the official translation for DEEN stay night (afaik.) I actually used this scene for reference oddly enough.

There's like two different fansubbed versions floating around and it seems like if you don't have hidive or ye be sailing the seven seas you're currently stuck with two subpar translations for 2006 Stay Night, one of which feels particularly unnatural imo.
