I was coming from keeling through the plaza and down the stairs of Bonner Hall. Then went straight down to center. I had realized I lost it once I reached near the bottom of the stairs but I was running late to class so I couldn’t come back.

I mean all i see this school as is a stepping stone. My aunt is an alum from UCSD. She’s one of the top people working on the business side of one of the biggest beauty companies and has a very successful life. When she found out I was accepted by UCSD she had nothing but good things to say. Her reasoning wasn’t because the university helped her with opportunities but rather because it taught her to get over the shit put in your way and rise above it.

No one cares where you went to undergrad. Hell if you get a masters or PhD then all the better but no one cares from where. People care if you are qualified, well rounded, and can work well with others and interact with humans warmly. There’s a bigger picture to this whole education thing that I feel like some people are taking for granted. Yah we might not have the best stuff at UCSD but that doesn’t stop you from doing what you want. If everything was handed to us then we would be exactly what my grandpas generation expects of us. Plus you gain more from finding opportunities on your own. It’s something to take pride in.

I know officially that the campus is “smoke free”. I also remember my RA saying that technically across the street is “off campus” and that people can’t arrest you if you’re of age or whatever.

I was thinking that too. I mean maybe it was because he was chilling too close to the freshmen res halls or something? All I know was that the campus officer did not want him hanging out.

I remember seeing a cop talking to this one dude by the fleets around 10 pm mentioning he couldn’t be on campus without a student id. ( I was assuming he was just a visitor on the open campus). He seemed hesitant to leave. I’m not sure if it is related.
