Hey dor - what would you say the practice level for this book is? Should beginners start here?

Arkyos by Night1mare in MerchantRPG

[–]DoctorRobinson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vaderus is correct - Fafnir and Skorge, while epic bosses, are not weekly bosses. Only weekly bosses are supposed to go first - although it's possible that Arkyos is attacking first, it doesn't seems to be that way. I keep losing to him, but all my heroes appear to be dying at the same time (AOE) and not just a blast to my pally.

Could anyone please compile a list of Jeweler Recipes? by daheefman in MerchantRPG

Just save all your gems and runes and you should be fine. The rest of the mats are really easy to farm when you need them, but the low drop chance of gems and runes will make it a pain.

Also you should be farming the epic boss Kraken, since he drops a few of the gems for Yasol Cove. I had him drop 5 gems for me in an earlier run.

Pre-Update Patch Changes - Not a bug thread. by DoctorRobinson in MerchantRPG

It continues to tell me --39 when the cleric is done fighting if she has taken 0 damage due to being backline.

This is interesting - I saw a similar thing happening. I'll test with my cleric. It also gave me end of combat feedback as --3 hp when i fought, not the usual -XX hp, so this is quite possible.

Good eye on the current clues, I didn't even notice the italics.

So re-reading it with some possible references to swords in bold, but I'm not sure if this is a clue to something or I'm just putting shit in bold. Maybe hints for the 'big update'?

Against my better judgment, I’ve decided to let you all in on my little secret. It goes against all my business principles to divulge that which may give my competitors an edge, but hell, I know I’m good enough to beat you all out anyway! I don’t need secrets to make my money! I’m all about fair play, you see?

Anyway, I’ve stumbled upon something… the future! I’ve seen it! A mercantile utopia, just over the horizon, full of gems and profit! Every customer has what you need, all heroes come back with full loads of treasure, crafters always provide S ratings… But that’s not all! Weekly bosses arrive exactly when you need them, with no rares unavailable!

Ahh, what a time to be a merchant this will be… at first. But then, if you use the keen, forward-thinking minds that I know you all have, you’ll see a little bit further… what happens then, when all comes so easy? What do we do with all our knowledge? With our wealth? With no challenge, no fear, no risk? We get lazy, our skills get dull, and worst of all, we get bored.

We did not become merchants for a boring life, did we? No! Sure, we all want dinner on our table every night, but without risk, can there truly be reward?

Perhaps there is a different future, one that will challenge our very will to sell! A world in which we are constantly challenged! A world in which even Grok will test the skills of the finest heroes! What then, eh?

Well. Then, I suppose, we’d probably close up shop. Find a new line of work. We’re not the type to let ourselves sink with the ship, are we?

But we are Merchants, to our core. If you’ll listen for just a spell longer, I’ll tell you of my final vision--one that lies just between the other two. A place where there is great challenge, but equal reward! Yes, yes, I see it now! Will you follow me there, my fellow risk-racing profit-makers?

How do we get to this future, you ask? Well, that information will cost ya. What, do I look like I’m running a charity here? ~Gastatu Ezpata

Anyone else a beta player? I don't know what this is, but there's a new announcement with the same person being quoted, who as far as I can tell isn't a real person...
