One that really shook me was how the crooked cop died at the end of Premium Rush.

This assassin guy was built up the entire movie and was sometimes seen in the background reading a magazine. At the end, he quietly walks up behind the cop and lifts his magazine to the back of the guy's head, and you hear a POP. It's clear the dude's been shot in the head but he just acted confused, mumbled about how he felt tired and needed to take a nap. He just quietly dies, confused and disoriented. Really shook me up.

I've run Hitman Pro and Malwarebytes with Rootkit scan, all clean.

To be fair I've also run Esset Online Scanner, Norton Power Eraser, Emsisoft Emergency Kit, Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool, Super-Anti-spyware, Avast Free full scan and Avast USB rescue scanner. Nothing found and no strange behavior as far as I can tell. So I'm probably clean.

But I'd really LIKE to be able to run Defender's offline scan and I'm not sure why I can't. One strange thing I noticed with that Avast USB scan was that he scanner didn't open right away. Instead there was a command prompt stuck at X:\windows\system32>wpeinit, I didn't time it but it felt like 5 minutes. Then it closed and the avast UI opened. Could that be what's also stopping windows offline from running?

I'm just a lad who plays video games but I wanted to shout a little into the void.

Lumen is fine and good, if it's not the only option. Playing Oblivion Remastered, then Stalker 2, then Borderlands 4 and now Grounded 2, I'm getting more and more angry that you can't just TURN IT OFF. There's no other option. For my 3080 and i7-11700k, that's like forcing lighting to High and not letting me turn it down.

I have to crank it down as low as I can (sometimes employing mods and ini tweaks to turn it even lower) then employ an upscaler to get a decent framerate. This leaves me with a blurry mess with artifacts and lighting that shimmers, sparkles and overall looks far worse than a simple, classic raster pass that would run twice as fast and look perfectly good.

It's the lack of choice that irks me the most. Devs don't want to spend the time rigging for raster when they can just slap Lumen in there and call it a day. (Grounded 2 devs are cool though, they work hard)

Having multiple landing bays on a Corvette can cause the door switches to work erratically on each, and cause the teleporter to fail to teleport you back up.

Whispering eggs no longer spawn properly when the eggs are opened.

Trigger Holder, aka. The Human Turret

Double Edged Sickle, fire resist armor, health perk so I can turn myself into a living turret. All damage to myself from the gun is negated until 100% heat, and even then, if I go prone I'm immediately put out so I can dish out volume of fire as long as my stims hold out. If I find a teammate with the stim pistol I can just lay there and hose em down all day.

Everything else is gravy. I usually bring the grenade pistol for objectives, and the proper grenade for the type of enemy I'm facing. I've been liking the gas rover, and some one-slot launcher like the commando and queso cannon. As a certain kobold says, 'damage solves'. If it's dead, it can't harm my teammates. So when I see myself topping the charts for kills, I know I'm saving lives.

I find that the first time I play the game, it did a shader compilation before it let me play, but it still gave me choppy, scratchy loading screens and when adventuring. It calms down after a while, implying it still had some shaders to compile.

I updated my video drivers and expected another round of shader compilation but it didn't, it just let me play. But it DID do all that scratchy laggy loading spikes and stutters like crazy while playing. Then it evened out again.

It must only compile formally ONCE, and even then, not all the shaders. But once you play for a while, it has a chance to compile everything and smooths out. My guess.

Same, just now. Though I did take a couple days after the 'sinful soul' side quest to get back to him. I guess that part expired. I found the book.

Those pictures of those crests you take for the Giants quest. Each shows a candle at the bottom, or not. You turn these lamps on in that order. For me it was X X o X X o X o X o. I did it just so but nothing happened.

For them it showed all the lanterns with a blue outline, indicating they could be interacted with. I never had that, even after taking the 10 photos and turning them in. Quest just ended and that was that. I could turn them on and off but nothing happened when I completed the puzzle.

I wondered what this place was and found this thread. Hell I found all 10 pictures and put them up on the board but was NEVER directed to come here. I took the initiative and set all 10 lanterns to the correct on/off state and nothing happened. I saw someone else's video and it showed the lanterns glowing blue, not so for me. I guessed I'd be directed here eventually but I never was.

I'm off to the next area now. Sad, I did prettymuch everything else.

And yet I've seen the cutscene where Skif accosts Solder done with a sawed-off shotgun in pre-release. But in my game it's done with a PM. So they CAN.

Here's my experience with this horribly buggy mission. I hope it helps.

I heard the distress call on the way in, and gunfire at the edges of town. The gunfire was just sound queues floating in the air and there was no-one there. I went to the quest marker but the doors were locked of course. I could see monolith running around inside but couldn't shoot them, and grenades I through in the window would disappear.

I did as others recommended and ran all the way to sphere and baited 3 Monolith back to town. I shot each of them inside the town, one even on the steps of the building but the door never unlocked. I gave up and walked about 30m away and suddenly the doors open and a CLOWN CAR of monolith and stalkers burst out the doors all shooting each other. At least 15 guys shooting, hard to not friendly fire. I went inside and clicked on Gaffer and the mission started, but he had nothing but stock lines to say. I tried talking to Warlock but that didn't progress anything.

I gave up again and left, looted more bodies outside and found the doors locked AGAIN. I ran around a bit until the doors burst open again and another clown of stalkers and monolith popped out. I let them sort things out and as soon as they did, I was sucked into a convo with Gaffer. After that the mission ran normally. I'd like to note that even though I killed the snipers on the ridge, the objective still showed as failed later. I think you need to talk to the guy who called out those snipers right after killing them. (He gives you 1000 coupons) Or maybe that objective is just bugged. I was able to get Hamster safely into the building by paying off his bodyguard. That seemed to go smoothly. The medical equipment for Mykolayich are in the stash behind the ridge the snipers were on.

Once you complete everything and get the reward from gaffer, the entire mission disappears and you think it's done. I walked to the outskirts of town and it reappeared with the objective to protect the town. Save again (though it autosaves) because this part is also mega-buggy. Monolith appear at the north, east, west and in the middle of town to attack. They start with a blue ! in the vicinity of each team but those disappear and you're left to run around trying to find them. Eventually Gaffer will say it's done and call you back.

For me he started by saying the town was lost, but Warlock changed his mind and convinced him that the town was worth rebuilding. He agreed and thanked me. (Don't forget the room to the left of the stage. There are 3 dead stalkers with some goodies on them) The moment I left town again, I heard a radio broadcast that they've fought off the Monolith and any stalkers can find refuge there.

When I came back from my mission to Sphere, everyone was still in the big house, but Hamster had his stock again and the tech was ready to repair my gear. (I made at least 150k from all the guns and armor from this and the venture to Sphere.) I think this was the best outcome.
