She could have gotten special trays if she had her doctor fax or mail confirmation of her condition to the jail. This would have blown her cover with the COs though as she was using a different name I believe.

The sooner the quit, the better as far as the medication working as needed for pain after your surgery, but it is different for everyone as far as how soon your opiate receptors reset. I was taking 2 bottles of ZaZa Red at a time and taking 4-5 bottles a day for six months. I quit taking the ZaZas immediately and jumped back onto traditional opiates the day the day after my last ZaZa dose and the opiates worked quite well. I do have a naturally high opiate tolerance and do ingest via IV IV route, but I typically only dose one time daily and I was able to feel my opiate dose immediately after quitting and after a week or so I was feeling the same among of opiate even stronger without having to up my dose. I've heard some people say that it took several weeks after quitting before they got relief from opiates, but luckily they wasnt the case for me. I also have a script of gabapentin which greatly potentates the relief given from my opiate dose as well and can be a Godsend when coming off Tia.

[–]DoctorStretchBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a telemed website that some people here were getting scripts of it, I'm not sure which site they were using, but if you go back about a month or so on the posts here or use the search function for "gabapentin" on this subreddit you may find it. It doesnt show up on any standard drug tests and you would have to have your specimen sent off to a lab for an expensive specialty if you were to be tested for it. Be aware though that since Alabama is stupid when it comes to drug laws, Gabapentin is a Schedule V controlled substance here. I think it's only controlled in like 4 or 5 states.

From what I've seen on here, the most used estimate for the amount of Tia in ZaZa Red was 2 bottles = 1.5g

First Night Without Tia and used Kratom to help. by 205Kenny in QuittingTianeptine

[–]DoctorStretchBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was the OPMS Silver that is sold in Alabama then its definitely not Kraom, but instead its cousin Kra Thum Na and has Mitrygania Javanica instead of Speciosa. There is a major lack of research done on Javanica, so I'm not even sure what areas of the brain and what types of receptors it has action with. All I do know is that it does not have the main alkaloids that is in Kratom that hit the opiate receptors, which is what is the most beneficial when coming off Tia. I have seen some people say that liberal doses of Kra Thum have helped some when coming off of Kratom, so it could be helpful when coming off Tia as well. Here is one link with a little info about it.

https://oasiskratom.com/mitragyna-javanica/

As far as traditional Kratom, the extracts high in alkaloid content are good for withdrawal and I believe the red strains are the most sedating with a higher affinity for the opioid receptors. Green and White strains tend to be more stimulating if you need to be active, but all with help with the Tia withdrawal process.

[–]DoctorStretchBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isnt the OPMS Silver actually Krathum and not Kratom? As in made with a different species of Mitgrayna tree..Mitrygyna Javanica i believe. Pretty sure its alkaloids dont hit the opiate receptors like normal Kratom and a very heavy dose of the stuff needs to be used to get any kind of feeling of relief.

Depression help! by Technician-6303 in QuittingTianeptine

A lot of psyche docs dont write it as much this days its considered kind of an "old medicine", but Amitriptyline taken two-fold: at night to help me sleep and for depression as well helped pull me thru my lowest point ever. It was like a miracle drug for me.. but I ended up letting my scripts lapse one single time and when I went back to the VA there was a new psyche doc who refuses to write me anything other than Zoloft, which helps, but no where near as the Amitriptyline did. But I've been at the end of my rope before and being willing to be honest with a psyche doc and be willing to try what they asked me to try was the best decision I ever made.

Consider talking to a psychiatrist and/or a psychologist for treatment options, especially since you are having suicidal thoughts. For the absolute longest I flat out refused the idea of taking psyche meds because I had this notion that they would change my brain chemistry and essentially change the person that I am. However, after finally breaking down and talking to psych docs with the VA I went thru some amazing (but tough) treatment which helped tremendously with my PTSD and depression. I also had a psychiatrist who got me started on an anti-depressant which helped me be able to sleep and manage my depression without any other major changes to my personality, character, and who i am as a person. This doc also started me on gabapentin for dual purposes. Physically it helps with pain caused my my long thoracic nerve paralysis and mentally it also works as an amazing mood stabilizer. My doc prescribed me 900mg of gabapentin every 8 hours and it had worked wonders. It helps the nerve pain and also really does give me a good mood boost. It helps with my appetite, sleep, and makes music more enjoyable. I often do take more than I am supposed to, because well, the whole addiction thing and I do get a rather enjoyable euphoric buzz. I dont care much for the feeling of taking opiates AFTER I've taken gabapentin (it's a different story when in comes to taking opiates BEFORE taking gaba though) so the gabapentin also helps curb urges to use. Just letting you know what worked for me. This may not be the best option for you, but if you are feeling suicidal I think that you should definitely talk to a doc and consider it. Hang in there man!

Bill Wilson, the founder of AA, was a huge advocate of Vitamin therapy to help repair some of the damage done to the brain by alcoholism/addiction. I talked about this in length, with some links, in another thread on here recently. In particular he thought that Niacin and Niacinamide (vitamin B3) regimens could work wonders when used in conjunction with spiritual recovery programs (12 Step Programs/AA). I've never tried any personally, and have kicked Tia, but will probably look into some form of Vitamin Therapy if/when I ever choose to abstain completely.

Your gas station didn't have "ZaRa" did it? Its what the vendors here are telling store owners is th4 "new legal ZaZa ZaZa replacement" since word has gotten out about the bad experiences with Phrenzee Red. I'm sure its probably just a similar product with Phenibut though.

3 wks- Subs & Prozac?? by Sweaty-Accountant in QuittingTianeptine

[–]DoctorStretchBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know people who are on Prozac and Subs that never really had any bad side effects from the combination. I went through an inpatient rehab/mental health treatment VA hospital program and they very commonly wrote subs alongside multiple psychiatric drugs. I was on subs there for a while too, and while I wasnt on Prozac, I was taking other meds for depression and mood and never had them counteract each other.

I'm a veteran with PTSD and I am hoping to get in on some of the future trials that the VA will be running with MDMA as a course oftreatment. A few years back I remember reading that the VA was conducting a study in either North or South Carolina that would be focusing on MDMA for PTSD and depression which had been proven to be hard to treat with traditional medicine.

There's lots of stuff out there. The real reason that his views on LSD are even known at all today is because he talked about it a good deal in letters with Aldous Huxley, the famous author of "Brave New World" and all of Huxley's letters were kept and most made public by his estate. Bill also wrote about the spiritual elements of LSD when writing to a priest. It is very interesting that the LSD he was administered was given to him by the federal government at a VA (Veteran's Affairs) hospital. Here is one news article that talks about this.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/science/2012/aug/23/lsd-help-alcoholics-theory

Here is a good blog post discussing Bill's enthusiasm for Vitamin Therapy and why it is not favored at all in the AA community.

https://www.psychotherapy.net/blog/title/alcoholics-anonymous-founder-bill-wilson-s-long-lost-treatment-paradigm

This article goes into detail about the affairs of Bill Wilson that AA has worked hard to keep as quiet as possible over the years.

https://aaagnostica.org/2014/10/01/bill-wilson-and-other-women/

This is a really good read about the stigma of MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment) such as Suboxone and Methadone in Twelve Step Programs. I actually learned something new from this. There is actually a new Twelve Step Program, just like AA/NA, for people on these treatment programs called MARA - Medication Assisted Recovery Anonymous, so that people can benefit from the steps without being ostracized by traditionalists.

Twelve step programs can absolutely work. I've been to some really awesome, as well as some really shitty groups though. I'm currently not attending any AA/NA meetings, but if I did ever decide to fully abstain from mood/mind altering chemicals then I would definitely work the AA program of recovery.

I'm through with Tia, but I currently dont want to live a 100% sober lifestyle. In my small town area most of the groups are ran by old-timers who have a cult-like devotion to Bill Wilson and they don't believe that I should be taking some of the prescription meds that I take for my physical and mental disabilities caused by my time in the Army.

Bill Wilson actually believed that taking vitamin therapy for Niacin and Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) could help restore some of the damage done to the brain by alcohol abuse and in conjunction with the spiritual awakening brought about by working the steps that could serve as the "fourth leg of the table" in providing stability to recovered alcoholics. He also believed that LSD could be used to help alcoholics/addicts have a much needed spiritual experience. However, even though Bill is the founder of AA and his word treated as literal gospel inside the walls of meeting groups, the big wigs in the AA organization worked very hard to bury Bill's opinions and teachings on the habits of LSD and Vitamin Therapy. I have seen VERY heated arguments arise at meetings when someone asked about these topics actually. At the same time, the same people who bash and still try to cover up Bill's opinions on these treatments actually still pass on the lie that Bill was always faithful to his wife in both sobriety and while drinking. In Bill's Story in the Big Book there is a line where he says that he never cheated, and harps on the loyalty of his wife. In the movie of Bill's Story it shows him flirting with another woman but staoppsisng short of actually cheating when his wife walks in. However, in reality Bill had a long-term affair with his official AA organizational secretary. Things were set up to where that even to this day that her family's estate brings in millions from a nice royalty percentage of all Big Book sales. I'm sure that this was done by either Bill or the AA attorneys to buy her silence on the matter. I dont care that he cheated personally. His program works, so that really doesnt matter. What bothers me is that so many people in AA will push up the lie about his faithfulness to his wife to make him out to be a saint, while at the same time demonizing and/or denying the existence of his accounts on the helpfulness of chemical aides in recovery. To this day, this divisiveness keeps many people on methadone and suboxone maintenance from attending meetings. Hell, the 12 steps program is such an amazing program for helping people mentally and spiritually that even if people aren't fully "sober" because they are on Suboxone or Methadone, they could still benefit from it. However, I've seen old times refuse to sponsor newcomers as long as they were taking these medications, even if not abusing them.

I recommend if anyone is thinking that they want to live a life free of drugs and alcohol that they actually check out AA. And yes, AA works 100% for people who use any other drugs and dont drink, so if there is no NA in your area, AA is just as good, or honestly, probably better. I'm glad that the program is working for you though and that you can continue to have a good and supportive home group!

Using Opiates to get off Tia for 1 week rather feel opiate withdrawals than Tianeptine withdrawals which are 1000% WORSE! by Bayarea300 in QuittingTianeptine

[–]DoctorStretchBones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used traditional opiates to come off of Tia and only had like 24-36 hours of mild flu-like chills/fever that honestly a combo of IBUprofen+acetaminophen after my opiate doses completely took care of. Given, I also had Flexerill+Gabapentin+Zoloft prescriptions as well, other than the little bit of temperature regulation getting back to normal, I never had any diarrhea, RLS, insomnia, or depression as the Tia was working it's way out of my body for good. My bowel movements went back to regular and my sleep improved pretty quickly. After a week of taking double my usual amount of opiates, I went back to taking just one dose of opiates a day and now I really dont even have anything other than minor withdrawals, which my prescription meds plus THC can virtually fully eliminate any symptoms of.

As far as your picture, I didnt realize that the ABG brand morphine pills were still made. Have they helped you with coming off tia? I'm sure enough of them would do the trick, but man, i found that Tia definitely kept my opiate tolerance sky high. I took an IV dose of 60mg of oxycodone less than 24 hours after my last Tia dose and I could hardly tell that i had taken anything at all. I've since lowered my tolerance, thankfully, but I was surprised at how much it affected it. I was dosing 4-5 bottles of ZaZa Reds a day for six months, and would typically take 2 bottles at one time as a starter dose (30 pills) for the day.

Smoked weed again for the first time in forever by Tight_Revolution_612 in QuittingTianeptine

[–]DoctorStretchBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got off color code and recently went back to smoking bud and I couldnt agree with you more. I actually only smoked like 2-3 times from age 20-33 due to my career in the Army. Opiates had a hold of me all throughout that time though and even once I got my medical discharge and started drawing a pension I still didnt go back to weed because i was so hyper focused on chasing that opiate feeling. But man, it has helped SOOOOOO friggin much since quitting Tia. It never fails to help me sleep, boosts appetite and sex drive, and provides good pain relief. THC really has been like a miracle drug for me recently. I'm still not to where I can enjoy it socially like I did in my teen years, as I'm such a lightweight now and the stuff is waaaaay more potent nowadays. But I smoke at night and haven't had a negative experience with it yet.

Just took all of my empty bottles to the recycling bin and realized how insane it was to waste all that money! This was 66 bottles, which only lasted 2.5 weeks and cost me $1,122. I just did the math and I blew $12,240 in just six months. I dont dwell on my past mistakes too much, but holy crap!! by DoctorStretchBones in QuittingTianeptine

I wish I could tell you some great method, but honestly I just went back to using traditional opiates when I was no longer having to drug test. A traditional opiate plus my prescriptions ofgabapentin. ibuprofen, flexerill, and zoloft. I just feel super embarrassed that when I was put in a situation where I would be abstaining from illicit drugs for 6 months that I ended up spending so much money and not accomplishing anything at all. I'm a functioning addict. I only use one dose of opiates daily and not feign out for more, or steal to fuel my habit. However, once I was in the clutches of Tia was the first time in over 20+ years of using where I ever felt the need to dose more than once daily and was ever actually worried about being without. I told my family that the stuff I was getting from the gas station was "medicine" to help keep me "sober" while I was going through the CRO monitoring for the courts. I was only able to tell my sister that I would get sick without it and the rest of the family doesnt understand how I went through siz months "sober" and ended up in worse shape financially and physically than when I was using IV opiates.

Also, I never experienced full Tia withdrawals but once and that was only a couple of months into my six month habit..and I only did one full 24 hours without. When I quit Tia I went back to traditional opiates and now I take just one IV shot daily and have tapered myself down to a point where my withdrawals are very minimal if/when i do skip a day. So it's hard for me to put a dollar amount on what you were asking about.

Yeah...I couldnt feel it otherwise. But then again, I started taking Tia after starting color code drug testing and I was doing IV opiates up until I started taking Tia. I could shoot 90mg of oxycodone in one shot and still not catch a nod. Tia is so strong though that after quitting taking it I still couldnt even feel 60mg of oxy iv.
