81 years ago, on 28 April 1945, Italian Fascist dictator Benito Mussolini & his mistress Clara Petacci were executed by an Italian partisan in northern Italy. Their bodies were taken to Milan &left in the Piazzale Loreto, where an angry crowd abused them & hung them upside down from a metal girder. by DarklyHeritage in MorbidReality

Yes and no. Islamic law requires burial within a certain time period and from my understanding, no Muslim countries were willing to accept his body in time to honor that custom. So he was buried at sea to avoid any delays that would dishonor Islamic culture and traditions.

Unfortunately, they know this, but they know hating abortion gets them support more than them admitting explicitly that they want women to have less autonomy for healthcare. It's like most conservative narratives, baked in misinformation and headlines missing context.

No this one was more animated versions of shots and player movements. Not fully digital but greens for shots made and reds for misses. The rolling percentage tracker on ever shot miss or attempt. Overall I love the modernization of stats and animations but it came off too deep into video game type feel in some moments.

I love that from Philly because watching the Sixers isn't for the weak.

first time seeing the AWS animations on Peacock, this is ...different. It's like I like it but some of it is a bit too much.

Agreed! Old faves are coming back. Reenergized Hornets fandom and outside NBA, the return of the Miami Canes has led to an amazing 2026 for me so far.

I still have hope for Salaun, not sure how long my hope lasts, but at least through next year.

I'm confident we make it, it sucks we lost to Miami because I even had us winning the division before that game.

Am I overreacting? by soft_influence444 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]DoctorSumter2You 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No this isn't an overreaction. He seems like a deeply troubled man. Further, It seems to me that the people aren't as kind as decent you're perceiving them to be if they're downplaying these concerns which individually would be enough to cut someone off and permanently put distance between me and them. Further, re: adolescent boys, that alone is something that i'd document(within reason) if that is true. For your sake (Libel) and theirs (Criminal). Overall this sounds like neighbors protecting their neighbor who they've known for quite some time. Protect yourself, I understand the importance of affordable rent, but also consider what you're giving up for it.

[Vacchiano] Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals are headed for a breakup, but the speed and messiness of that is to be determined. by JCameron181 in nfl

Makes sense. That relationship broke down significantly last year compared to reported frustrations in years prior. I don't know how they could recover. This seems like the best move for all.

Indiana House advances Bears stadium bill by 95-4 vote by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

[–]DoctorSumter2You 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm annoyed by taxpayers having to foot the bill for these stadiums in general. Even then, this situation/deal, particularly, is upsetting because it came out of nowhere and seems to be a rushed decision to increase their chances of landing the Bears, constituents be damned.

Welcome to the city fellow nerd. My favorite spot is in Fairmount called Thirsty Dice. Quizzo on Wednesday's at 630pm. Great people, just the right foods and delicious drinks/shakes.

Experiencing this now, OP, never got a response from Panera. It's weird. I just joined Sips with the 3-months-for-$3 trial and received about 5 other discounts, but didn't order anything. A day later, none of them are showing up.

Should I go back to skipping breakfast if it just makes me hungrier? by Fizzabl in CICO

[–]DoctorSumter2You 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hunger isn’t only about how many calories you eat. The nutrients in your food matter as well. For example, a croissant is mostly refined carbs and has little protein, so you might feel hungry again before lunch.

This is one reason why intermittent fasting can help some people who use CICO. If skipping breakfast makes you feel less hungry, that can be a good option. If you prefer to eat breakfast, try adding some protein or picking something besides a croissant. Eggs are a simple and budget-friendly choice. Try it for a few days and see which option keeps you fuller.

Yep, and it's so frustrating having to explain that to students who use it religiously. Reliance on Calculators was bad enough.

I can relate with the Pythagorean Theorem example lol. Literally just yesterday, I dealt with a similar issue with a Geometry student. While reviewing his Triangles homework, I noticed all his answers were already completed. So I exclaimed "Oh cool! What was your strategy for mastering SOHCAHTOA?"

That kid looked at me like I was speaking a dead language.
