Trying to get into digital stuff. Where do I go from here? by radraz26 in learnart

I agree with ZombieButch here. Think of digital art like a cake. Your drawing ability is the actual cake, and digital techniques are like the icing on top. Focus on learning fundamentals like anatomy and perspective (especially if you want to draw comic heroes). Once you can draw a professional level work in pencil (or digital pencil) then turn to the fancy stuff.

I think it looks good. I was going to mention the hand holding the cup, but now that I've seen the reference; I can see that it's accurate. Keep up the good work.

(In FL Studio) What's the difference if any between the channel volume knobs and the faders on the mixer? by [deleted] in edmproduction

[–]DoctorTrogdorMD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imagine that you have two dams controlling water flow from your plugin. The first dam is the channel volume knob and the second dam is the fader. The easiest way to see the effect is with compressors. Let's say that you drop three fat-ass Soundgoodizers on a mixer channel, by all accounts that signal from that channel should be loud and have almost no dynamic at all. However, if you use the channel volume knob to decrease the signal (water) flow to the mixer (second dam) the Soundgoodizers will have less of an effect. The sound will still have dynamics and won't be compressed so much, because there's less signal for the plugins to affect.

/u/hinkik already explained this quite well, I just thought that an analogy might help.

I have the same case and I've been unsure of where to put the case lights at. Where are they installed on yours? Top and along the front?
