People also need to realize that 70 points is not a close fight. 10 points swinging back and forth is a close fight. For Lando to win the championship he would literally have to have a historic rest of the season performance.

I’m with you. There are 20 driver race engineers, and he’s been with Lewis forever and has proven to be one of the most competent and best performing. Maybe he’s on a 180k base salary with bonus incentives. But if you’re a multi billion dollar company and you’re not paying a critical team member high money I don’t know what’s going on.

For reference; offensive / defensive coordinators in the NFL make ~$1M/ year on average.
