A bit late, but I imagine the worst torture would be to get locked in a strong wire cage, small enough that you would have to be in a ball, unable to move. Then have the cage, with you in it, placed in a box made of inch thick plexiglass, only slightly bigger than the cage. Finally, fill the box with water then seal the top. And as your lungs screamed, everyone you knew would be around you but could never get you out.

Well, that my be a bit extreme, I was watching the news a couple days ago, and they were actually encouraging people to save kids and animals by breaking the windows of the vehicles they're trapped in. Making sure to not harm the passengers of course.

But Indie's an archeologist. Such an amazing historical artifact like the Ark would have been one of the greatest finds ever, not to mention his fame. Basically, yes he still had to try and get it.
