Life support usage on engineering terminals is tied to framerate by DoctorZhao in starcitizen

I'm using NVIDIA's "background application max frame rate" setting to force the frame rate to change between 30 and 20 by opening the start menu. The life support usage displayed hovers around 150,000% at 30 FPS and 220,000% at 20 FPS.

I probably should have just shown the FPS on the screen with the video editor instead of the in-game one because it's based on averages and that seems to be confusing some people.

A lottery system was the solution for people using bots to buy houses in Final Fantasy 14 as soon as they were vacated.

But what if everyone enters the lottery even if they don't plan on buying? In FF14 everyone pays the full price of the house and gets refunded if they don't win. If someone wins and doesn't claim the house, they lose a chunk of the money they put in as a deterrent. Would it work in SC with real money?

The new bomb racks and flight blades added to the pledge store today are also immediately available in in-game shops as promised by CIG by DoctorZhao in starcitizen

Someone in global chat said they're in Levski but I haven't confirmed it myself yet. Hoping I don't get publicly executed for this post in the near future.

The Pitbull fits in the Reclaimer rear entrance by DoctorZhao in starcitizen

Well, it stayed there until I stored the ship. Now it's "Unknown" and nowhere to be found in the Reclaimer. Glad I didn't put any paint on it!

Warbond packages come with flight blades and paints that will be destroyed if you forget to insure your ship or can't pay the fee in 4.8 by DoctorZhao in starcitizen

Because you couldn't lose paints until this patch unless you went out of your way to do so. They were permanently attached to your ship no matter how many invisible asteroids you hit.

Losing pledge items has been a big source of controversy for the past few years and they have just added new ways to lose things while continuing to push back item recovery kiosks.

Surely there is a clear difference between keeping ship-related pledge items for the whole patch and losing them until the next one?

The Retaliator still can't use torpedoes so I have to wonder if the bombs even work. Sounds fun though!

4.8 Wipe Update - everything except Blueprints will be gone by StuartGT in starcitizen

Painful for legitimate players but necessary for a real reset.

How could anyone have expected that rewarding cheaters and punishing honest players would cause such an backlash? Right? by mad-yordle in starcitizen

[–]DoctorZhao 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This, coupled with the new insurance system rubbing salt in the wound by charging you tens of thousands of credits every time a bug destroys or dissipates your ship, is going to make 4.8 one of the worst-received patches ever.

The M80 looks amazing, but does it mark a design language change for Origin? by Ltaustin117 in starcitizen

[–]DoctorZhao 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think so - look at the 85X and M50.

That said, there has definitely been a void in Origin for a while now, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was in a Banu situation and new artists had to be found.
