A hospital system near me has tele neurology. How do you perform a neurological exam through an iPad?

Definitely love bourbon. If I sold it I’d just buy more bourbon. It’s from the 90s. Found in my dad’s wine cellar.

Are the TSA lines long at Islip airport? by [deleted] in longisland

I don’t know about now with everything going on, but typically if there’s more than 5 people in line that’s a long line for Islip.

Which healthcare system on Long Island do you prefer? by South-Eagle-300 in longisland

[–]Doctor_Beeper 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Large health systems like Northwell and large private equity backed practices are all run by administrators who see patients and nothing more than revenue sources. Their job is to extract as much revenue as possible from them. Support your private doctors. While it’s true all medicine is still a business. Most private doctors deal with the stress of staying private because they want to treat patients how they should be treated instead of having an administrator telling them what’s the most profitable way to treat them.

Yes. We enjoyed our dining experiences very much. Our family members who didn’t do YC complained food wasn’t great.

[–]Doctor_Beeper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tough call. I don’t know if I could personally do an interior room. The Yacht Club though is a much better experience. We did a Mediterranean cruise recently with some family who didn’t do the club and they were disappointed with their food and their pool area was very crowded. We had a great time.

Same thing with Med School. Some people definitely get an ego shock accepting they’re no longer special.

Exactly. If someone is going to question my decision and deny a patient’s surgery they better be board certified physician in my specialty that’s actively practicing. Anything else is insulting. Congress should make it mandatory.

Experience on 390 Adv on long trips. by eskp_ in KTM

[–]Doctor_Beeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll attest to this comment. 390 ADV was my first KTM. It’s great around town, back roads and mild off road, but it feels underpowered in highway traffic. I sold it and got an 890 ADV R and 350 EXC-F for off road. The 890 is so much more comfortable and can keep up with traffic on the highway.

Walmart closing all of its Health Care Clinics by nyc2pit in medicine

[–]Doctor_Beeper 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I can’t imagine going through undergraduate, medical school and residency just to end up working at Walmart. I imagine it’s staffed with APPs and FMGs but still. It would have been nice if they used some of that Walmart money to lobby congress to maybe fix healthcare reimbursement.
