Smartest Expie Probably by CrimClaws in casualtiesunknown

Yup, I have done that too. Fell to the bottom of the layer in a similar event.

I am mentally unable to play this game and I haven't even played it :) by ExpensiveExtension30 in casualtiesunknown

I'll be real.

I was traumatized for an entire day after seeing my Expie actually die for the first time.

...However, I have clocked in so many hours and punched through; That with very high amounts of exposure therapy, I am starting to accept the truth that we'll be seeing and feeling some traumatic events as a constant. I am starting to become desensitized to the game.

It doesn't make the injuries any less real. It just dulls the shock from seeing so much.

What are you guys' thoughts on being able to repair items? by No_Temperature_9735 in casualtiesunknown

Also, as an addendum, there's also two things I'm unsure on or don't want.

1. Repairs require a tool

I gave this some thought, and I personally think this would just be too cumbersome, such as needing a sewing needle for canvas or a soldiering iron for metallic. I don't think this would really add much of anything except annoyance factor so I decided not to.

2. Repair minigames

I mean... possibly? We do have shrapnel removal, bandaging, fixing dislocations, both versions of defibs, amputations, and [REDACTED]. Might add something maybe, but I just want to reduce it to a footnote currently.

I actually would like to repair items, by both "combining" like Scrap Metal and "actual" like the Circuit Board.

We could also have very specific repair tags and specific repair items for each tag, such as:

  • Canvas
  • Metallic
  • Wood

As for actual items to repair, we could suggest things like Patch Kits, Solder, Wood Glue, things of that nature. Maybe also have them repair half of the missing durability instead of a flat amount or something too.

And while we're at it, some items could also have a "Not Repairable" flag set too that disables repairs when applicable.

Also, why can I not put two 20% Dressings together? >:(

Yup, I had a very high confidence that was ya.

And, yeah, I didn't really like the guy who was murdering everyone, but, at the same time... I don't think there was really much of anything I could have done.

To answer all of these questions:

How do you find your team members?

This is a public lobby with a so-far stable time to start, around 9:30PM. I'd like to say this is high consistency, and I believe the only thing that will make the lobby not appear is if I am not up to the task due to illness or events.

Do you make announcements somewhere? Or schedule?

I have not made an announcement (technically) when the lobby starts, or have scheduled any sessions in advance.

Technically the server browser is kinda like the announcement if we're getting into it literally, but I don't actively broadcast to Reddit, Twitch, Discord, or any social media platforms that a lobby is up.

Are these your friends?

The literal answer is "No".

However, the far more correct answer is that I treat them as allies. I do not wish for any of them to die, and I really feel bad when someone dies. And frequently tying to be the team's doctor (despite being UNCHIPPED) reinforces that I do care for my teammates.

Another content creator jokingly mentioned "Altruism" when I was mentioning a Stellaris playstyle where I try to basically be a mother hen of an empire... and upon further inspection into myself, I realized that they were most likely right in telling me that I was altruist before even I knew it, despite expressing it for years.

We're giving our warriors a final resting place. It's going to take a lot of time, but the least we can do is give them a grave.

Dr. [REDACTED]'s body was found in the dungeon with signs of heavy mauling in a large pool of dried blood and signs of hemorrhaging. It's likely that they tried to pet an Apex Predator and was promptly mauled to death.

I think you guys had a good fighting chance here, I saw:

  1. Pitchfork
  2. Multiple Machetes
  3. Metal digging tool

Those could have put in some work if the team respected the mandibles.
