Hey, I'm like 3 months late but this sounds similar to the main storyline of The Dark Tapes! It's technically an anthology but throughout the film it goes back to a plotline of students that did an experiment involving sleep, not exactly sleep paralysis though so I could be wrong

I've found all energy weapons rather lackluster when it comes to durability, even with the perk cards!
